This morning Maelie was pretty tired... in fact she was so tired she came downstairs and layed down on the couch. She didn't even think of her advent calendar!
Once I reminded her though... she was up and at 'em...
Today Maelie stayed home. She was very tired since she had not slept well last night. We learned that a child in the other grade 3 class passed away in a car accident. It was very sad. We did a lot of talking about it... each person has their own way to grieve. We will pray for their family and hope that they can keep on living, growing, thriving, loving, being.
This evening as most Wednesdays, we visited Sonia for dinner. Usually she takes Maelie home after school but since she was home already, we just went for a little bit. I think that sharing laughs and chit chat was very important after such a sad day.
Hug your kids extra hard, tell them you love them. Just BE with them.

My thoughts are with you and Maelie...and the families affected. That is horrible! And you are right always hug your babes! I try to rememeber that each day! Hugs to you!
