Sunny week ahead!!

Mother nature has officially decided to start cooperating, but mainly on weekdays so far. That doesn't stop us from having some fun after school!! Today we headed off to the water games not too far away. Our neighbors went in their car since they have two young kids, and Tristan called and decided to head there too.

Wait for it..... wait for it.....

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.............. cold cold cold water!!!

For some reason, all the kids seem to like being hit on the head with cold water falling from the bucket. Interesting!!

So nice and refreshing!

Of course after the splash pad time, Maelie brought everyone to the forest to get some snails.

Aren't they so cute when they walk around?

Everyone wanted to take the snails home....

but we managed to convince them that their home was here.

unless the snails can start helping out with the housework, they are not welcome in our home!

After our time at the park, we headed home but made a little treat stop at McD's for a McFlurry. What a nice way to end the day!!

This week calls for a beautiful week! Hot weather all around! Have I ever mentioned that I thank the heavens every day for air conditioning??? After a HOT day, a cool night is always welcome!!

Things I love...

I love when Maelie and Naomie have so much fun together...

I love when fresh cherries are on sale...

I love when Maelie tries out a new type of art (watercolors):

I love making spring and summer crafts:

I love when children come by, knock on the door, and ask Maelie to come outside to play :) Warms my heart!

Remember the days

We are so blessed to be able to use digital cameras now and take as many pics as we want! Yesterday, Maelie and Naomie had a photo shoot. They spent so much time getting ready for it, and they did it completely on their own! These are much better than magazine photos! :) Such sweethearts making fun memories!

the 1st swim

Monday was Victoria Day so we had a day off. My friends were having a yard sale. Since they have 5 kids between the two, they entertained them by letting them swim! So we dropped by to say hello and for Maelie to join them in the pool. Of course, we cheated.... their pool is heated!

Maelie can't wait for our pool to be started up. Especially after her swim on Monday!

Getting her in action is part of the fun!!

no belly flops.... phew!!

I feel like summer is on its way :)

Tulips & Victoria Festival

Maelie and I headed off to the Tulip Festival before it was too late! A lot of the tulips are already faded and on their way back to the earth. Many of them that were not in bloom the first time we went were really bright though, so I was thankful for that!

These 2 types were really different but both were gorgeous!

After we saw the tulips, we walked on over to the Victoria festival. They had a few rides and so I told Maelie if she let me take pics of her in the tulips, I would let her do a few rides. She was ecstatic! On our way there we walked over the O-Train tracks. I find it really pretty and dreamy looking down on those tracks. The picture doesn't do it justice.

As much as I love bracelets for all you can ride places, I do enjoy the excitement of limited amount of tickets where you have to choose wisely! It reminds me of when I was younger and the small fairs came into town. Nowadays there is extreme everything, so the simplicity of these little fairs is fun.

We stopped by to check out the animals and fed them. They were pretty cute. We never get tired of sweet animals.

Maelie was very excited about trying out the swings. In this picture she was telling me that she did not choose the color of her swing. She went where the man told her to go!

She went on again so she was on the blue chair this time.

In the ferris wheel, she sat quietly enjoying the wind once at the top.

On this picture she is in the orange seat right at the top top top!

The sky was getting a bit darker and we did get a few raindrops, so I figured it was best if we headed home. But of course, not without a snowcone! There's the fair in the background.

Maelie's mouth stayed green for about an hour after that!!

A pic of the sign so we would remember where we were.

We had a really fun time together :) and of course we are looking forward to the summer to have more outdoorsy fun times!

apparently blondes have more fun

Maelie's roots had been growing like weeds, and Maelie wanted me to dye her hair again.

She was glad to show that her roots were gone!

She is now blonde mixed in with a bit of golden blonde.

class trip

This week we went to Maelie's class trip. As long as she will let me join her on these trips, I am happy to take a day off work to do so. Soon enough, she won't want me to volunteer for class activities so I am enjoying it while I can!

The Sheep Shearing Festivsl was on. Maelie was very observant and noticed that the sign said May 21 but we were there earlier in the week. I like that she catches these little things! So I just explained that the sign was for the general public. It was open for schools during the week.

Every half hour or so, there was a sheep shearing demonstration. Here is the sheep before...

Here is the sheep during...

and here he is after.... Much better!

Maelie took a pic of three huge pigs relaxing. They are so cute!

The llama was the sheep guardian during the day. It watched every single person to make sure they weren't there to steal the sheep. I just find it amazing the way animals are. Nature just made them perfect for their purpose!

The kids spent a bit of time in the play area. The girls didn't go in the big structure as it was very crowded. Maelie is not one to put herself in the face of danger!

One workshop along the way was to brush the wool, I don't remember the term they used for it. Basically once the kids were done taking all the knots out , the wool was pretty cute and fluffy.

We went to watch some dog agility performances. I thought this picture of two of the boys so cute.

Maelie was in control of her camera for most of the trip so I ended up with tons of pics of her with some friends :) so cute! She would get people to take pics of them. I love this age! It's so sweet! They are groeing up yet they are still so young and innocent.

Even if we had been to the museum before, we had a wonderful time! The kids were well behaved and the weather cooperated!

Norway Day - syttende mai

May 17th is the National Day of Norway, syttende mai.

Since Ingvild is from Norway, Sonia asked if we wanted to join them for supper to celebrate. (once school and the "busy times" are over, Ingvild may have some kind of norwegian party). For now, for syttende mai we just went to Madison's! I bet they don't have a Madison's in Norway! :)

Trying to get a good picture of the girls at suppertime was sooooooo difficult! LOL they kept making funny faces, or hiding behind the menu!!
