Rock climbing-o-thon

On Friday, Naomie's school program was having a grimpe-o-thon which basically translates to a rock climbing marathon-style fund raiser. The kids in their program had different timeframes where they had to assist people in rock climbing. Here she is setting up Maelie to climb.

I am not familiar with the rock climbing teminology... but she is holding onto Maelie here.

Maelie went almost all the way to the top!

Here is is on her way down...! She made it safe and sound :)

There is also a lower wall that you can climb on without being tied up.

Maelie got to the top of that one... but coming down has always been the tougher part for her!!

She managed to twist her ankle on the mattress when she landed at some point. She will be fine in a couple of days I'm sure :)

Naomie is 13 at Clip N Climb!

Our dear friend Naomie is officially 13 now!! She invited Maelie to her bday party at Clip N Climb last weekend.

Here are Maelie and Naomie face to face... they didn't get very far as the wall was way too wobbly!

Maelie tried a whole bunch of walls!

Her favorite remains the green poles. She would love to be able to climb on the last one stamding up, but for now she settled on sitting on the last one.

Here is Naomie ready to blow out her candles.

Maelie's new 'do!

I love Naomie's expression when she opened up her Paul Frank i-pod touch case! LOL She was ecstatic!

We had a wonderful time! Sonia went out of her way to make sure all the kids had fun. Naomie's classmates and relatives were there to celebrate and by the look on everyones faces all evening, they had a GREAT time!!

Happy bday Naomie!!

13th bday cupcakes

Sonia came by yesterday to finish up Naomie's bday cupcakes. She has her party this evening and we are so excited! 13!!! Holy Moly!!

Sonia made some vanilla cupcakes and we iced them with white icing. She had bought the purple spiral wafers at T&T last week. We used banana shaped candies for the fire, we just dipped them in orange melted chocolate. The little cupcake holders were made with my Sizzix cupcake holder die. I LOVE those! They are so versatile for any type of theme.

The pictures actually don't do them justice! The whole cake arrangement is beautiful!!! I can't wait to see Naomie's face when she sees them!!

Fishies

Maelie wanted an aquarium for her birthday. I didn't mind as long as it was not a lot of maintenance. I started up the aquarium and Jacinthe came to make sure I did it all right. She's had fish for many years. We went to get my water tested and the PH was too high so we couldn't take the fishies home the 1st day. Poor Maelie was extremely sad!! The next day however, the PH was perfect and we took 3 fishies home. I had put some kind of powder to get the PH perfect, but no one told me I had to dilute the powder first, so I put it directly in the aquarium. It clouded it up for about 3 days! Here is the fisrt pictue I could take with no cloudiness:

We have one black Molly fish, and the 2 others are boys that don't mate with the Molly fish. We surely didn't want to end up with baby fish!!

Here is Maelie who is organizing the fish pictures on her I-Pod touch. Thanks to a lot of family members, she had enough money to buy herself that toy!

Happy Birthday Maelie!! & Happy Easter!!

Maelie is 10!! My little baby girl is 10!! when did that happen???? Maelie was up at 4 am ... and could not fall asleep again! I told her she had to wait until 6 am before forcing us to get up. Shortly before 6 am, she woke me up and then proceeded to clapping her hands to a beat until Bill finally got up too! It was all decorated for her bday and she had a pile of gifts and cards to open. She was ecstatic!!

She was hard at work while we just barely had our eyes open!

She loved every single one of her gifts!

After gift opening, we surprised her with an Oreo ice cream cake from Coldstone.

Your birthday is the only day of the year that you can have cake for breakfast! There's nothing like ice cream at 6:30 am!!

Maelie set up her gifts and played for a while.

All the tiny balloons were sticking to her every time she moved!

She enjoyed her Angry Birds game (a real life one - not on the computer LOL). She loves making her own scenarios with them and having battles.

So once Lisa got up, the bday turned into Easter! I hung the Happy Easter banner on the other wall, and we started the Easter game!

Since we had both a bday and Easter on the same day, I didn't make an Easter egg hunt this year. Instead it was a ring toss game to earn Easter surprises!! Maelie completed her turns as Lisa slowly woke up and then she pressured Lisa into throwing her rings as well to earn her Easter treats.

Happy Easter little bunny !

We headed out for Maelie's bday lunch. Her choice was Scores! It was difficult to get Maelie to understand that she should move closer to Lisa for the picture! Here Lisa acted like Maelie when we ask to take a pic! LOL

This is as close as we could get her! hahaha Maelie is not one to want to hug or cuddle....!!

Maelie chose bowling as her bday activity of course.... so Lisa joined us and we played a couple of games. Maelie was really happy Lisa joined us.

After bowling, Maelie and I headed off to Sonia's house as she invited us over for a bday supper! Naomie made a beautiful card for Maelie :) and she got another gift! sheesh! spoiled little 10 year old.

Sonia also got Maelie an ice cream cake, this time from Dairy Queen! Maelie was ecstatic! She was extremely full from supper but she made room for some cake anyway....!

The girls ate the gel on top of the cake.

Aren't we so cool???

We also brought a couple of Easter treats for Naomie and Tobias.

Naomie will have enough Skittles for quite some time!

Here is on cute little bunny I added in their goodie bags. I saw this idea on different craft blogs I visit. It is so adorable!!

Once we got home, Maelie got to Skype with her cousins and aunt in PEI and grand-maman was also there! They made a cake, lit up candles and sang Happy birthday to Maelie! It was so sweet!

Maelie enjoyed her day immensely!! She went to bed happy and fell asleep in about 3 seconds! LOL

Happy 10th year sweet baby love! You rock my world ! I love you!

Family visit!

Last Thursday was the yearly hockey game that my dad goes to with Bill. So Lucie and my dad arrived on Thursday and hung out until Saturday morning. This time, they brought Meggie along! Their cute little dog. She is hilarious.

While the men were gone to the hockey game, Lucie, Maelie and I decorated some Easter eggs with very bright colors!!

We had a great time eating home made spaghetti sauce, playing Yum Bingo, Carnival Games on the Wii, shopping and just spending time together. We were really happy that they came for a visit!!

Today was finally the big day!! Maelie's 10th birthday party!! We needed to be up bright and early to get to Fun Haven for 9:30.

Once we were all settled, our hosts Cole and Katie brought the kids to the games right away. We started off with the bumper cars. It was great because the place was not even open yet (opens at 10 am) so only 2 birthday party groups were there. No waiting in line!

After this they headed off to laser tag. They had a lot of fun! The blacklight made all of their outfits glow in the dark! The lint on my jacket also glowed wonderfully!!

After that the kids headed upstairs for brunch. They had waffles with all the toppings, followed by decorate your own sundae!!

No one had any room left in their little tummies for cake... but we still sang Happy Birthday to Maelie. She was laughing so hard she was hardly able to blow out her candle! Good thing there was only 1 !!

She opened up her gifts, in a nice cozy armchair!

Once all that was done, the kids headed off and tried some more activities. They went in the ball area, the lazer frenzy and of course the arcade games!

Here are Kaylee and Naomie rockin' it out!!

Maelie would play these games ALL day if she could!!

Our hosts swiped a few arcade games for her, so she got a few extra activities for free.

There was a photo booth so I got a few extra bucks on my card so we could get pics of all the kids.

Here are a few of the ones Maelie got to keep!

The staff at Fun Haven were actually quite impressed with my keychain for the cards. The kids were able to keep their cards with them at all times on their arms! Of course they got to take the keychain home with their goodie bags!

Once we were back home, the kids got to play for a little over an hour, and then they all got a goodie bag and headed home!! It was quite a busy, full, tiring day!!

This is where Maelie ended up after everyone left! Poor baby was worn out!!

I can't believe her 10th bday party is already over! After weeks of preparation, today was the culminating point!! Fortunately, her actual bday is next Sunday, so I have time to prepare more surprises! :) Her grand-papa and Lucie are also visiting this week so she is a very lucky girl!!
