Garden and baby shower prep

This is the loot I got from my garden this morning!! I can't believe how much it grew while I was away for a week! When I got home I picked over 20 tomatoes. Maybe more! 3 more cucumbers had grown and the carrots we ready to be eaten! This is the bounty from this morning before work and school!

My colleague/now friend Vero came over after work today to make some thing for her sister's baby shower. I don't get to work on baby showers very often but I love it!

We made these cute little diaper favors. The were filles with two striped pink and white marshmallows!

Of course I couldn't get a nice picture even if I tried! But we all get the idea from seeing them. I found this idea online somewhere and i have no clue where !!  The link was not on the print out... so this is a CASE from someone.

Vero had chosen 2 molds for chocolate suckers. One was a baby carriage written baby on it with little hearts, and the other was a baby wrapped up just like he was being delivered by a stork. Lots of PINK!!

I suggested she even make a card for her sisters shower and she was excited about that too so we made this cute dress! I saw the idea online and we simply copied it. Simple and elegant.

It was a really fun day! Maelie went to a sleepover bday party at Sierra's house, so it was fun to have a friend over!

Summer vacation is over! Back to school now!!

I can't believe I was able to record our whole summer on my blog!! wooo hooo!! I am really glad I did it :)

This morning was an easy morning to get Maelie up! I was more tired and had a harder time, but I had to do it :) She chose a nail color carefully...

She brushed all the knots out of her hair :)

and... ta-da!! Ready for school!!!

Good luck in Grade 6 my beautiful, loving daughter!! I love you!!

Once Maelie came home tonight, she told me that she already loves her teacher and that this is going to be the best year so far! It feels nice to hear that... let's just hope this motivation lasts all year!

Summer vacation - Day 69 - LAST DAY!!

This morning we said goodbye to Jo, Lucas, Nathan and Brennan. It was sad to see them go. We didn't have MUCH time to sit and stay sad... I had to get going to prepare the BBQ at my workplace. It was a VERY busy day but at least the weather turned out nice and hot. Once the BBQ was over, I left the park and met up with Maelie at Staples for a very very quick back to school shopping spree. We had her list and we had 15 minutes to get it all done before her orthodontist appointment. We made it in record time!! but the price tag was higher of course due to not having time to look around.

The good news is that Maelie can take off her retainer all day now and only wear it at night! Hurray!

We also had a chiro appointment after that, and we had to stop at another bookstore where Maelie always finds cool pencil cases. We came out of there with 3 pencil cases and another lunch box. Maelie was ECSTATIC. She talked a mile a minute and was so excited to go through her school stuff.

So much stuff to take to school!!!

Ta-da! The school bag she fell in love with....

These are the 2 shoe pencil cases she got. She loves to be original and colorful!!

Back to school tomorrow!!! Grade 6!!!

Summer vacation - Day 68

This summer I wonder tickets to go to Calypso!! I was SOOOO excited. It's so expensive to go on those outings that I thought it was a perfect time to go with my family :) We only had to get 2 extra kid tickets and we were off!

Everyone was SOOOOOO happy and excited! So many things to do and try that it was overwhelming!

The wave pool was a hit of course!

Brothers hanging out together :)

Cousins chit chatting in the wave pool!

Maelie enjoyed hanging out with her cousins a lot. She really ensure their safety at all times!

We saw sooooo many commercials about the Kongo on tv and even on the radio, so it was a MUST try!

Everyone seems to have had a good time but I think the little ones may have been a bit nervous.

Maelie just wanted to go again and again!

It's quite entertaining and relaxing at the same time!

Lucas enjoyed the lazy river a lot! He went over and over and over! Peace and quiet for him!

Maelie convinced Lucas to try this one. She loves this ride, it's one of her favorites!

Lucas had mixed feelings! He said it scared the crap out of him!

The pirate ship was fun, but Nathan hung out at the back because he was a bit fearful of the giant bucket!

Brennan preferred the little slides! I am pretty sure he went up and down over 150 times!!

This is the ride that everyone tried together!

Brennan was quite scared, and Maelie was a bit nervous when it went up on the sides!

Nathan is quite a little monkey! He was able to cross this course without falling in!

Maelie was proud to have completed and enclosed slide. She has a tendency to feel claustrophobic in enclosed spaces, so she was so proud of herself!

After a wonderful long day outdoors, we got the boys some blue suckers and drank a ton of water!

Bye bye Calypso!!! See you next year!!

Last evening with Jo and the kids... it's always bittersweet. I know they are looking forward to a routine, just as we are, but we will miss them so much!!! How I wish we lived closer to each other.

Summer vacation - Day 67

Monday morning was the first whole day in Gatineau! We all were up early of course :) Maelie and I took the little ones to the park while Jo and Lucas got showered and dressed.

They really enjoyed the buckets!! They went around trying to get sprayed over and over!

May as well jump in the pool once we got back home!! Cannonball!

Smaller cannonball! wooo hoooo!

After lunch we headed off to Skyzone. What an AWESOME place to expend energy!!

All the kids loved it! and us parents LOVED that they were worn out! Little Brennan trying to get the basketball in the hoop! He tried again and again and told me that next time he would get it!

The fun part is always throwing yourself against the wall!! I barely have any pics that are not blurry!! Too much action there!!

There's Maelie jumping from one square to the other....

The foam pit was also a lot of fun!! It was easier because you don't have to jump non stop... it's less exhausting! Getting out is probably the hardest job!! There are Nathan and Maelie in the pit trying to get out!

After a succesful outing at Skyzone, we stopped at Dairy Queen for an ice cold treat!

So many activities to do , so little time!!!

Summer vacation - Day 66

This morning we celebrated Jo's 42nd birthday! Woooo hoooo!! (her bday was yesterday but with the wedding, we ran out of time)

Dominic and Dave came by (neighbors) for breakfast. Lucas and Dave enjoy riding ATVs !

Dominic knows how to get the littles going!! Party time!!!

A family pic before we left!

A friend pic before we left!

We were off to LaRonde for the day, and the we both drove to our place.

The pitoune is an old ride, but I think everyone must try it once in their life!

I asked Nathan to stop for a sec so I could take a pic in front of the flowers :)

Maelie and Lucas went on some little rides with the small kids and they enjoyed it :)

Water rides are fun on a hot day! Too bad this one didn't splash as much!

While Jo and Maelie waited in line for a bigger ride, the little came to the Nintendo area... they were all wet from the sprinklers and there was AC in that room so they were frozen!!

We managed to get back in time to see Maelie and Jo go up on these swings!! It was REALLY high!! Jo says she kept her eyes closed the whole time.

ah... back down on earth!! Maelie loved it!!

The aqua twist is a new ride that is extremely slow, but you get to spray people as you go along. Lucas seemed to enjoy that one!

May as well get ALL wet after that!! Brennan and Nathan sprayed each other like CRAZY!!

We had a great time at LaRonde. I can't say I would do it again with a mixed age group because you don't get to enjoy as many rides. One wants to go on one thing, the other on the other... and of course, you spend a lot of time waiting in line :) All in all though we enjoyed ourselves and were pooped when we got home!!
