Silly girl

Maelie has her chalk board in the living room and we are counting down.... (sorry for the missing S in days... she corrected that now). If you count down correctly, you will notice that picture was taken a few days ago!

Maelie and Tristand played with the straws and connectors this week. I think their goal was to build something they could get inside of....!

Tristan built a robot. He did this two days in a row... the first day he had not figured out how to fit himself inside of it, but the second day, he had it all panned in his head! We can't see it very well due to the strong sun (who's complaining? hehe) picture courtesy of Maelie and her camera.

Now how do I get outta here??

Hockey night - Devils vs Sens

Maelie and Bill had a fun outing last night! They went to see a New Jersey Devils vs Ottawa Sens game! What a nice Daddy-daughter outing!!

Even if she doesn't necessarily like the Devils, she wore her Devils shirt proudly with her daddy!! :) They were in the 15th row so they got to see the game pretty well! Maelie was apparently really into it :)

Life is so short that it is important to take the time to go out and enjoy fun times together!

A lady offered to take a pic of Bill and Maelie but unfortunately it came out blurry!

My baby is back!

Feeling much much better! She is back to her old self again :)

20 bags in 20 days

When I read the blog post on this blog: Clover Lane, I thought that was JUST what I needed!! 40 bags in 40 days!!

I was a bit off in timing since she started her challenge on Ash Wednesday. I decided to cut the challenge down to 20 days. I am having company in April, starting the week of Maelie's bday so my challenge with start today and last until April 4th! I will take a picture of the daily bags to prove that I am actually doing it!!

The bag size will either be a garbage sized bag or even just a grocery sized bag! This will help declutter the house, so basically it will be considered some kind of spring cleaning!

Please don't get me wrong, this is not stuff going in the garbage can necessarily! Some stuff will be thrown out, but if it is something I can recycle or give to Goodwill, that's where it will go.... just OUT of my house!

20 bags in 20 days!

Will you join me??

It's looking up...

Things are finally looking up...! It's been a very difficult 2 weeks emotionally!

First off Bill had chest pains last week and ended up seeing the doctor and getting an ECG and blood tests. We are awaiting more testing but needless to say, when your husband has chest pains... and is very stubborn, one has a right to freak out of her mind. I was very worried.

I am extremely thankful that he is here every day of my life.

Next up, Maelie has been feeling extremely tired for the past month and more.... since last weekend she was really not feeling good at all. She had difficulty breathing and said it felt as if someone was strangling her. She had difficulty in her gym class, and in pretty much everything. She was tired, weepy and sensitive, stressed and depressed. She was not my usual little girl! I took her to CHEO and had a blood test for mono and a swab test for strep. Her glands were extremely swollen in her neck and that is what was making feel like she was being choked. Her lungs were perfectly fine.

Strangely enough, 2 days later, her test for strep came back positive. She didn't even have a sore throat, but I guess it was affecting her glands and tummy. I am relieved that that's all it was and some antibiotics are working hard at healing her.

She is a much different person today! She is happy, lively, and more herself than she has been in weeks! I think she is also relieved that we took the time to take her seriously and get her checked out.

A few Crazy erasers and she was happy as can be! It took her mind off her sickness and she has been playing with these all day!

My baby is back :)

I feel I need to take a minute and say thanks. Thanks to the friend who told me i could call her at any time day or night if ever something happened, and she would watch Maelie for me. Not many people are there for you any time day and night much less if they don't get anything out of it... I appreciate that I have friends who take me seriously when something happens and they don't mind me only talking about my family when I need to.

Thanks to my colleagues at work who listened to me worry and didn't mind if I was not 100% present.

Thanks to my boss who has such a wonderful heart and who doesn't want me to worry or fret over anything. She is truly the best.

Thanks to Maelie's teacher who loves Maelie so much and cares for her enough to take the time to talk to her and make things easier on her when she is not feeling well. She also took the time to call me to see if she could do something to help. We adore her.

All these people reached out in our time of need and tried to make it all easier on us. I appreciate them and couldn't ask for a better circle of friends.

Museum visit

Yesterday was our last day dog sitting our cute little guest Peluche! He was treated like a king while he was here. We miss him already!

We went to the Museum of Civilization today as Naomie had to do a short movie for a school project. Maelie was to be a person in their movie. Once they had done the educational part... we headed off to the Children's museum for a bit.

Poor Ingvild... I think this car is a bit small for her!

My little sunshine!

The kids had fun on stage a bit...

They worked on a kaleidoscope as a craft.

Here they are hard at work!

We were home not too late and in bed really early! Maelie has been having a bit of a rough time with her asthma so I am having her rest as much as possible in the evenings.

It's been a while!

In the last week, we have been very busy with bowling. Maelie played at the provincial 4-step to stardom tournament on Sunday so the days leading to that were filled with bowling, bowling and more bowling.

She was VERY excited! I am really proud that she played well. Unfortunately though, her team did not win the gold, they won bronze. But Maelie really played awesome so I was really proud!! They got a very heavy bronze medal to take home with them!

This week is also March break! Maelie played with Tristan on Monday over here. Then on Tuesday, they went to Lac Beauchamp with Maria.

So sweet!

Wednesday morning, Maelie attended a free workshop at the local library. It was presented by the Mint. So cool! They taught the kids how to tell the difference between real currency and counterfeit! Isn't this what all soon to be 9 year olds should know? haha!! Maelie said she had a good time. I missed it as I was working. Bill got to stay but it was in french so I guess he will not know how to tell if the money is real or fake!

Maelie then went swimming with Tristan and then played for the afternoon. The March break is already almost over! I can't believe it!
