This week, Maelie was determined to ride her bike on 2 wheels. We put the training wheels up high (they were up to the sides so they would not touch the ground).
Maelie spent countless hours this week going up and down the road, getting pedal marks, scrapes and scratches from the pedals and falls.
Yesterday she was able to do about 20 feet but did not know how to brake.
Today, off she went to impress Susan, a neighbor down the street that she likes. She rode her bike well and she used her brakes.
My little girl isn't so little is she?

Wow ! & mine is just starting to sit on her trike & can barely get the bike to move as she hasn't mastered the concept of pushing on the pedals ! See what a 4-year difference can do ? i believe Maelie is almost ready to borrow her daddy's car :)
Jenn I think Maelie and Chase and leading parraell (spelling?) lives!!! Chase just learned how to do his yesterday without the traning wheels and today at 730am before school he was full speed ahead. Isnt that something!!! Good job to Maelie...i thought this day would never come!!!!
Olivia is right there with Maelie as well. She just learned to do the no training wheel bike riding too! I hope this summer is not going to be a busy one with kissing boo boo's for either of us!
She is still your little girl and she always will be! I bet when she is 40 you will look at her and see the same little girl and be completely in love!
Congratulations Maelie!! It's not easy to master the art of 2 wheels! Way to go!!
