Maelie has a loose tooth. This event has caused a lot of trauma. There will be no need to ever cook anything solid again. Pureed everything! Maelie can no longer chew. She needs to have ice cream for supper until this tooth is out...which at this rate, could be a month or two. (It's her bottom left one for those who are wondering...) It has been an evening or tears and fear of the unknown. I, myself, almost started crying. I am not ready for this. A tooth leaving your mouth is a true sign of growing up. I never thought it would happen to my baby!

i remember losing my first tooth, i was exactly Maelie's age. i lost it at pre-kindergarten, so the teacher had me stick it on a red cardboard heart so as not to lose it.
By the way, one of my friends gave me this neat book about teeth & the Toothfairy (will you be telling her about the Toothfairy?) : it even comes with a velvet pouch to put her tooth (teeth) in. Oh, & one more thing. Another of my friends once told me that for her daughters, she made up this story that the Toothfairy needed children's teeth to make the pure, white, glistening snow sparkle in winter. How awesome is that ? (Though it can sound creepy, if not told properly hahaha)
