Nothing but parties

This past weekend was a write-off for anything but parties! Maelie had 2 birthday parties at Fun Junction and then her end of year bowling party.

Fun Junction is very fun for this age group! They played glow in the dark bowling, and laser tag.



The kids could rock-climb as much as they wanted!






They had food and cake and presents!



Then they had tokens for games games and more games!






Right after Tristan's party on Sunday, Maelie and I headed off to the bowling party. Maelie sat with her friend Melyna.



The Bantam kids all got a trophee for participation.



The kids were very spoiled this year! They all received a 30$ gift card to ToysRus! Maelie also got the 10$ perfect attendance bonus! hahah! She wouldn't miss bowling for the world!



We had a great weekend but the only problem with so many parties is that it FLEW by!! With a blink of an eye, the weekend was over and it was back to work.

recap of our week

Last Sunday, on Mother's day, grand-maman came for a visit. Maelie was of course super happy to play basketball with her!



I love these moments they share just the two of them!



On Monday, Jo arrived as she was working in Ottawa for the week. Rarely are we only all us girls! We spent the day out and about, running around the city, and then for supper we went to The Works once again! Grand-maman had never been.



Of course we had to get some onion rings to share!



On Wednesday, we headed off to the Tulip festival to see if the tulips were open yet. We had really hot weather this week so I knew some of them would be ready.



A lot of them were in bloom but I would say a lot of them also needed more time! We will go back for sure soon.



Jo wanted to see if the Beavertails in Ottawa tasted the same as the Beavertails in Cavendish.



Half hazelnut, half maple butter.... yum yum!!



I love the pattern they made with these tulips!



Look at the shading of these ones... yellow and orange! Love them!



There was a cute little patch of daffodils along the way, so Maelie sat right in the middle and I took a few pictures.



Maelie said as long as she has her snowcone, she will get her picture taken anywhere. LOL



How about beside a fence? Sure!



On Thursday we went out and fed the ducks and geese.... The geese are kinda VERY friendly!



We had 3 loaves of bread and went through them all!



It was such a pleasant evening...



Everyone is now officially back in their respective homes... how time flies when we are all together! Can't wait to see you again !!

Basketball star

Bill set up Maelie's basketball net today. We got it for her used around Christmastime, but we had to wait until today to set it up. Maelie is sooooooo happy! She's wanted one for quite a while now.



I never was really good at basketball in my younger days (not much better now apparently... I hit the neighbor's car and Maelie was very embarassed). Maelie loves to play!



Maelie says Bill is much better than me at basketball :) Thankfully, it's not a skill I need to survive! LOL



Let's hope she enjoys playing with it all summer and fall!



I think that being old enough to have big basketball net means you are growing up too fast!! Slow down baby girl..... slow down!!

So much fun together! We enjoyed having you with us Lisa! I hope we will see you again soon!

Saturday outings

Yes, you guessed that right, we went to Omega Park on Saturday. Maelie really wanted to have Lisa discover the joy of being slobbered on. Lisa accepted, you know, being the trooper that she is!



Here is a cute baby nursing on his mama. So natural!



In the middle of the drive around, there was a "Cabane a sucre". Isn't this the most natural sight in the middle of the forest now? A Purell dispenser on a tree?



We had some of the "tire d'erable" on a stick... MMmmmmmm



The kids got to put it on a stick themselves. Yum yum!!



They are eveb producing some Birch syrup... apparently it is very different than maple syrup and costs a lot more as it takes more of the sap for the same quantity.

Some of the deer came out and let us feed them.



Others preferred to stay lying down, and insisted we go to them in the woods to feed them....



It's amazing how they were so calm, and not nervous at all.



This one was a bit shy at first. Obviously he thought we couldn't see him behind the tree.

After a nice little walk to feed the deer, we returned to the slobber! Poor Lisa! haha



When we got to the gift shop area, we were pretty happy to visit the REAL washrooms and not the portopotty!

We took this picture outside of the building and it's pretty funny because it looks as if Maelie is smacking Tristan across the head for no apparent reason and is laughing about it while he is covering his head in pain. The true story is that the sign was swinging and hit his head, and Maelie was actually putting her arm up to stop the sign from swinging straight into Tristan's head!! This goes to show how sometimes, we see something and ASSUME.... but really, we don't know the real story.



Surprisingly, Maelie decided to pose on a rock! It was so nice and sunny and warm, maybe she was just tanning and not posing.




Once we got back from Omega Park, we had a quick rest for half an hour and then headed off to the Cabane a Sucre. We had made reservations for the last sugar shack weekend of the year! I wanted Lisa to see what it was like.



This particular sugar shack changed a lot since I visited it last. They built a whole new dining area and you can fit about 300 people now! Last time I went I am not even sure you could fit 50. Here are the beautiful girls once again! I am glad they let me take pictures of them together... these are beautiful memories especially since we don't see each other often.



After the HUGE meal, we had more "tire sur la neige". Maelie didn't have any as she was SO full she compared herself to a sewer back up. She said she felt like a Maelie back up.

We went home, chit chatted a bit, and then passed out in bed. What a beautiful day this was!
