Naomie was gone for a week to visit the Grand Canyon with her class. We babysat Peluche during that time as Sonia and Patrick were out of town. When we went for a walk one day, Mika the cat was out too. Peluche doesn't care if you are a dog, a cat a bird, a bear, etc....! he LOVES you!
So happy to get to smell his favorite cat! Mika is SO relaxed, he just nonchalantly walks around our street.
After this waslk, we went to Naomie's school to greet her! The trip was very demanding physically and emotionally, so we wanted to be there to support her. Maelie made a sign for her to welcome her back!!

June picture dump!
June is a story told in Blackberry pics!
A few warm pool days :)
A sweet girl - love her so much!!
This basket was a gift from her sisters when she was very little!! Sadly, it was time to let it go to someone else who would enjoy it...
Loving her sombrero!!
It was also a month of for me to celebrate my 40th bday!!! Maelie took over the decorating with nice flower balloons!
She and I have an inside joke about construction cones... so she made me happy bday cones!! Gotta love her thoughtfulness!!!
This is the most positive bday news ever! :)
I was also treated to some PB & chocolate cupcakes at work from my manager! yum! delicious!!!
End of school teachers gifts... Thankfully we had one or two cool enough days to bring them to school! The gym teacher had gobbled his up before the end of the day... so no worries that they would melt!!
Once school was out, Maelie attended my work BBQ and she was put to work cooking the hot dogs!

Jazz festival - Saxofour
We took a look at the Jazz festival program for once.. and what did we find? A group of four who played saxophones! Maelie and I got tickets and headed out there early in the heat!! Thankfully there was a bit of air conditioning in the little bistro-style room!
We were right up front! we weren't allowed to take pics during the show... so I took one just before! The Austrian group was extremely talented! They played amazingly fast! It was quite a treat for the ears!

End of year Band concert
Maelie's band had an end of year concert, and of course.... this makes me happy! We had the opportunity to have another bake sale!!
The Band played amazingly well! They have improved so much as a group since the Christmas show. Their Band teacher is so good with them and has a ton of patience and talent!
Here are a few items I prepared for the bake sale. I took a day off so that I could get it all done! I think we did quite well, we sold a ton of items!!
These little Barbecues were SO cute! I got the idea on Pinterest. Pinterest is seriously a modern day God send!
At the back there are cookies bars and rice crispie squares. One of the other mom's made the big brownies on the left. We laughed because the 2 brownies were one beside the other... and we watched if people preferred quantity or cuteness. LOL
I used my cake pop pan for the first time ! It was quite easy to make them... I read a few tutorials online before decorating them. It ended up being really simple!
Since I often make cake items, I thought I would add some shortbread to the mix!
A few cuties... Friends Fries! Another idea found on Pinterest.
I love the Stampin up basket die, and the Sizzix strawberry die. Sweet little treats!
At the last minute, I decided to use up some of the extra candies I had and put them in a paper bag. I just trimmed the top of paper bags, and added a bow! People could snack on this during the show!
Traditional Ice cream cone cakes! With a cherry on top of course!
This idea also came from Pinterest... corn on the cob cupcakes!!
Some people actually stocked up on some items. They took some snacks home to freeze or to use up at a family party the next day! All the money raised goes directly to the band! This year, they went to Festival des Harmonies in Sherbrooke. They spent 3 days and two nights together, they had a comfortable bus, and even went to la Ronde as a treat on the way back!! Well deserved for all their hard work. They even got the "note d'Or" in Sherbrooke! Gold! for the first time! Great job!
Maelie told me all about how much fun they had, and all the fundraising work during the year makes it worth it!! :)

Raiding the Smart phone
The fun part about Maelie having a smart phone is when I get to just copy the pictures to the hard drive!
Here are random pics found on her phone :)
Love ya babe!

Teens are so funny nowadays! In my day, we used to pose in photo booths at that age! Never EVER would we have thought that we'd be able to take an unlimited amount of pictures one day!
Love ya babe!

Talent show & bake sale
Maelie participated in the talent show at school ! She and her friend Veronique played Bad Romance. Maelie on Tenor Sax and Veronique on clarinet. Maelie is quite critical of herself so she doesn't really want me to post the video but I don't actually have a picture of her and her friend to post other than the video!! I'll have to see if I can make it smaller because it is over the blogger limit. They both played amazing though and I was sooooo proud!!
Of course when there is any event at school that has an opportunity to have a bake sale, I am all over it!!
Here is what I made this time around:
I made little curvy keepsake box turtles. Ooooops... a few of them are missing eyes! I was able to glue them back on before the sale :)
I tried this new recipe for caramel popcorn cupcakes that I found on Pinterest! The little cups I made with a cupcake holder sizzic die I had, and the window label punch. I loved them!!!
I made little monkey cupcake toppers, girl and boy, and added candy bananas.
Cowboy hats made with a chip and a jujube!
Butterfly cupcakes made with yogurt pretzels and smarties!
Fish cupcakes made with Smarties!
I made some daisies to put on top of little 4 oz cups. I filled the cups with little jujubes.
All of the cups had a little paper cupholder.
I wrapped 2 powdered donuts and added a paper straw in the middle to add color!
Little cupcake cups filled with pink popcorn!
Cute little curvy keepsake box ladybugs filled with candy and gum.
These are 1X8 bags filled with red, blue and black smarties to go with the little music instrument & star tags, with a note "enjoy the show"
Flowers on a sucker stick in a small 2.5 oz plastic cup and lid. the cups were filled with sour candy.
How I LOVE making stuff for bake sales! It just makes everyone sooooo happy! :)
