Friday night

A recent Friday evening had us heading out to the local library... who knew it would be so much fun! The girls are both into reading these days... so just choosing lots of books was fun!! The library had a teen section where you can just sit in a lounge like setting and even watch a movie with headphones on. We were short on time, so we just focussed on getting books before closing!!

Once back home, this is what it looked like for quite a while! Just two BFFs relaxing in a beanbag reading a book. Lovely!!

Spirit Halloween is open! Yay!

Yesterday Maelie and I went for our first Spirit Halloween annual visit! We LOVE to visit that store a few times every year. It's like going to a mini haunted house! We love what they come up with every year!!

There are so many things that I would love to have!! of course it is qute pricey though... and I am sure that if we put certain things up in our yard, we may not have any trick or treaters below the age of 10!! LOL

WWE Smackdown!!

Maelie and Bill went to see Smackdown this week! This is an activity they share together and I am pleased to not attend! LOL

They had nice seats. Maelie was happy to see the Great Khali ! That's the wrestler she was really hoping to see :)

Precious moments like these with our loved ones are what shapes us :) Not wrestling in general... but activities together as a family!

Labour Day - visit to Little Ray's

Maelie and I decided to visit Little Ray's again today since most things were closed for Labour Day. We arrived just on time for a feeding show. The shows are really the part I enjoy the most! I mean, they have to feed the reptiles & other animals anyway, so why not use that to make a show?

This little guy was so cute! Apparently bearded dragons like affection. Surprising!

The person hosting the feeding had SO many interesting facts to share with us! I can honestly say that I learn something new every single time we visit Little Ray's. The hosts are extrenely knowledgeable and pleasant to listen to!

I love seeing how the snake hugs his food before eating it... LOL ... how kind :)

We walked around a little bit between shows. Doesn't Maelie look like someone to the right of her??

We both thought this guy was a bit like me... he is touching the water... but brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.......... it's too cold!

They had 2 badl eagles outside. I must say that he is pretty good at staring us down! What gorgeous creature!! I am amazed at what we have on our planet!

Next for the touching show!! Who wouldn't love the opportunity to touch a tarantula?? Maelie would never miss out on it!!

I forget who this little guy was... but he was quite soft and had little bumps!

This snake was some kind of super snake... a mixture of some kind of python with another snake which means he is gonna get huge! That doesn't stop Maelie from wanting to pet him :)

As much as snakes are not really supposed to see well, they apparently do see shades.. this one followed Maelie's finger against the window!

Little Ray's is an amazing educational experience. I am sure a TON of people said they would never touch a reptile but once here, they cannot help themselves!!

Hot Air Balloons - a tradition!

Maelie and I decided to chase the hot air balloons this evening! They didn't have that many up at the same time (some years we see 20++). I think there were between 12-15. We chased them all the way outside of Aylmer! To the point where I didn't know where I was! LOL but that's always the fun part of the adventure. You drive along and watch them... then you see a chaser van and follow them since they MUST know where they are going :) hheehe

We managed to see a few landing in a field!

A farmer's field to be exact...

Maelie had her camera with her as well snapping away!

As they were landing, pretty far in the field, one of the chasers asked me if I knew if there was an open entrance to the farmer's field.... I had no clue! It was fenced up all around. Not sure how they would handle THAT! Getting the vans to the balloons must be the most challenging thing at times!

We had a fun time! as usual :) We love doing this every year, it never gets boring!! I will enjoy it while I can because soon enough, I am sure Maelie will not find the same things fun & exciting :) Hopefully I have a LOT of years left chasing hot air balloons with my baby girl!! :)

Garden and baby shower prep

This is the loot I got from my garden this morning!! I can't believe how much it grew while I was away for a week! When I got home I picked over 20 tomatoes. Maybe more! 3 more cucumbers had grown and the carrots we ready to be eaten! This is the bounty from this morning before work and school!

My colleague/now friend Vero came over after work today to make some thing for her sister's baby shower. I don't get to work on baby showers very often but I love it!

We made these cute little diaper favors. The were filles with two striped pink and white marshmallows!

Of course I couldn't get a nice picture even if I tried! But we all get the idea from seeing them. I found this idea online somewhere and i have no clue where !!  The link was not on the print out... so this is a CASE from someone.

Vero had chosen 2 molds for chocolate suckers. One was a baby carriage written baby on it with little hearts, and the other was a baby wrapped up just like he was being delivered by a stork. Lots of PINK!!

I suggested she even make a card for her sisters shower and she was excited about that too so we made this cute dress! I saw the idea online and we simply copied it. Simple and elegant.

It was a really fun day! Maelie went to a sleepover bday party at Sierra's house, so it was fun to have a friend over!

Summer vacation is over! Back to school now!!

I can't believe I was able to record our whole summer on my blog!! wooo hooo!! I am really glad I did it :)

This morning was an easy morning to get Maelie up! I was more tired and had a harder time, but I had to do it :) She chose a nail color carefully...

She brushed all the knots out of her hair :)

and... ta-da!! Ready for school!!!

Good luck in Grade 6 my beautiful, loving daughter!! I love you!!

Once Maelie came home tonight, she told me that she already loves her teacher and that this is going to be the best year so far! It feels nice to hear that... let's just hope this motivation lasts all year!
