Countdown to Christmas - Day 11

Happy 11th of December! Today is 11-12-13! I bought a lottery ticket at exactly 9:10 on 11-12-13! Shouldn't that be lucky?

 

Last night, Maelie asked me to braid her hair after her shower. This morning when she undid them, she looked so adorable! Lots of volume in her hair! She loved it :)

As I was finishing up the Christmas cards to mail out, Maelie worked on her gingerbread house! She wasn't all that motivated this year.

Of course licking the icing was fun... and perhaps eating one of the cookies that came with it..

It turned out pretty cute! :)  Yum yum yum!

Countdown to Christmas - Day 10

2 weeks away til Christmas Eve!! I was sad today when I realized how quickly it is going!! I wait all year for Christmas season, and BAM! done in a flash. I will cherish every moment though :) Especially when I see this cute little face in the morning!

 

We don't see much of Bill during December, so every year it is a tradition to have a mailbox in the living room where Bill and Maelie write back and forth... they just leave little tiny notes each day. It keeps them connected!

Countdown to Christmas - Day 9

What a crazy season right now! I realize I barely have any pics to post on a daily basis! I guess we just haven't done many Christmassy things yet other than fulfill obligations for projects I get into..

Today was my work lunch/ We've worked many hours getting everything ready! We have a really active social committee that is not afraid of using their lunch hours to work on projects.

The lunch was a success, people enjoyed the food, the socializing, the games...

I officially can focus on our Christmas stuff now! This evening I started working on addressing and writing in the cards. I should be done by tomorrow! :)

Countdown to Christmas - Day 8



 

 

Maelie's friend Kierah slept over last night so this morning she had someone to play with. They had fun time today again. They even went out for lunch on their own ... thankfully Subway isn't too far!

 

This afternoon, Nicole also came over so we could work on a Mario card. She found the idea online, but without instructions so we kept looking at the picture and trying to figure it out ourselves! It turned out cute! This is my nephew Nathan's bday card. His birthday is in January... let's hope I just remember to mail it!!

 

 

 

and of course speaking of crafting... this is the state of my craft room right now!! SCARY!! After Christmas I will have a chance to tidy it up before working on Valentine projects!

 

Countdown to Christmas - Day 7

Peluche, as always is quite the helper when it comes to opening up an advent calendar! He is just as excited to see what is in there... sadly for him, it is not bacon.

 

Yesterday evening, Maelie tried out one of her advent activities.... the eraser clay! She made these little pencil toppers, and made a hole under them with a pencil before baking them.

It was pretty cool when it came out!  They actually DO erase! Of course not as well as those white Staedtler ones... but well enough to be useful at times!

Saturday afternoon, Maelie had her friend Kierah come over. They seem to have a lot of giggly fun when they are together. Isn't that what childhood is about ? :)

I worked on a few errands, and had some work to do for a conference that was coming up so needless to say, my Saturday was really busy!!

Countdown to Christmas - Day 6

Friday!! At last!! I think this is the one day I can get a smile out of her!!

 

Maelie had to wear her hockey shirt... since she grew out of hers, she borrowed Bill's old one! She was so excited!

Once again, at lunch today, we worked on another project at work. We made this little Santa ornament with a picket at the back to tuck in 10$ for each employee to use towards their lunch. We will write their names on the belt in silver sharpie. It can be hung on a tree afterwards!!

So much preparation to do this weekend because our lunch is on Monday! We have a few fun games planned. This even has been occupying my mind this week hence why I have not been posting much about Maelie... poor kid! When she reads through the blog when she gets older, she will notice that this is the week I practically ignored her! LOL I love you Maelie!!

Countdown to Christmas - Day 5

This morning Maelie had a little bit of help with her advent calendar!! Peluche is always more than happy to help with gifts! Just in case it is for him...!

 

 

 

At lunch today, the social committee worked on some little goodies for the staff at the Christmas lunch. I blurred out the scallop, but we have our group logo on it. We glued the paper pad on cardstock and added the scalloped image. We added a ribbon, a pen and a candy cane. The picture really doesn't do them justice ! They are really cute!

 

 

 

Maria asked if we could dogsit Anika, her little cutie. I thought MAYBE we could get away with it with Peluche here... but he is a non operated male and so his ONLY thought was mating. He ran after her non stop even if she barked and grumbled at him. Poor little girl, after an hour, she was exhausted!! I texted Maria to see if there was another option, and thankfully there was... Peluche is NOT ready to have a friend for a sleepover!! He was just wayyyyyyy too *interested* in his guest.



 

 

 

This evening, Maelie worked on a few French projects. Her and her classmate were doing an OREO commercial, hence the OREO cape... yes I think the commercial involves some kind of superhero.
