Countdown to Christmas - Day 7

Peluche, as always is quite the helper when it comes to opening up an advent calendar! He is just as excited to see what is in there... sadly for him, it is not bacon.

 

Yesterday evening, Maelie tried out one of her advent activities.... the eraser clay! She made these little pencil toppers, and made a hole under them with a pencil before baking them.

It was pretty cool when it came out!  They actually DO erase! Of course not as well as those white Staedtler ones... but well enough to be useful at times!

Saturday afternoon, Maelie had her friend Kierah come over. They seem to have a lot of giggly fun when they are together. Isn't that what childhood is about ? :)

I worked on a few errands, and had some work to do for a conference that was coming up so needless to say, my Saturday was really busy!!

Countdown to Christmas - Day 6

Friday!! At last!! I think this is the one day I can get a smile out of her!!

 

Maelie had to wear her hockey shirt... since she grew out of hers, she borrowed Bill's old one! She was so excited!

Once again, at lunch today, we worked on another project at work. We made this little Santa ornament with a picket at the back to tuck in 10$ for each employee to use towards their lunch. We will write their names on the belt in silver sharpie. It can be hung on a tree afterwards!!

So much preparation to do this weekend because our lunch is on Monday! We have a few fun games planned. This even has been occupying my mind this week hence why I have not been posting much about Maelie... poor kid! When she reads through the blog when she gets older, she will notice that this is the week I practically ignored her! LOL I love you Maelie!!

Countdown to Christmas - Day 5

This morning Maelie had a little bit of help with her advent calendar!! Peluche is always more than happy to help with gifts! Just in case it is for him...!

 

 

 

At lunch today, the social committee worked on some little goodies for the staff at the Christmas lunch. I blurred out the scallop, but we have our group logo on it. We glued the paper pad on cardstock and added the scalloped image. We added a ribbon, a pen and a candy cane. The picture really doesn't do them justice ! They are really cute!

 

 

 

Maria asked if we could dogsit Anika, her little cutie. I thought MAYBE we could get away with it with Peluche here... but he is a non operated male and so his ONLY thought was mating. He ran after her non stop even if she barked and grumbled at him. Poor little girl, after an hour, she was exhausted!! I texted Maria to see if there was another option, and thankfully there was... Peluche is NOT ready to have a friend for a sleepover!! He was just wayyyyyyy too *interested* in his guest.



 

 

 

This evening, Maelie worked on a few French projects. Her and her classmate were doing an OREO commercial, hence the OREO cape... yes I think the commercial involves some kind of superhero.

Countdown to Christmas - Day 4

Day 4! Another happy advent morning :) She was quite happy with her little scratchie game!

 

 

We are babysitting Peluche for a few days! He obviously noticed that the tree is up... blocking his view out the window!!  What a tough life he has!

Countdown to Christmas - Day 3

I think it would say "Mom, why do I have to get up SO early??? Can I go back to bed after I open my advent calendar?"

Nicole and I finished up our sale today! We are so close to 900$ ... so we will continue selling some at our desks if people want some. We somehow NEED to get to 1000$!! Makes all our work in the past 3 weeks worthwhile!

I've been really exhausted since we were go-go-go this past week.. I stayed up way later than I had planned, and was up much earlier than the sun!! Time to catch up now... :)

Countdown to Christmas - Day 2

Day 2 already! I knew December would go by quickly! Poor Maelie will always look half asleep on her advent calendar pictures ...!!

 

Today was focussed on the card sale!! We set up at work , it was hard to fit the cards on three whole tables!

The cutesy cards left first (penguin, elf, Rudolph)... so Nicole and I will make more tonight to replenish the stock!

Crazy ladies? Why yes, yes we are!! Like 400 cards is not enough! It's all for a good cause though! All the money raised is going directly to the charity campaign at work!

Countdown to Christmas - Day 1

Once again, it is my favorite time of the year!! Countdown to Christmas!! Maelie's favorite time as well.... advent calendar time!! :)

"Mom I know what this is! It's obvious! The bag smells!!"

Ah... the fresh smell of spearmint gum! She had just been saying yesterday that she needed gum... so perfect timing!

My recent weeks have been filled and filled with a project that actually is ending tomorrow! For weeks now, Nicole and I have been working on making Christmas cards. Today was our last day for working on them for the purpose of charity! We will be selling them at work and donating all the proceeds to the United Way campaign. By the end of the evening, we counted about 382 cards... with a few already at work, so we MAY have surpassed 400!!

This is part of the reason why I barely have any pictures taken this past month! I was downstairs in my craft room making cards morning and night! We can't wait to see how the sale will turn out. The quality of the cards is really good and the choice is varied. Nicole and I both have different tastes in cards, but we really appreciate the differences! We have a bigger variety because of our different tastes!
