Another show!

Last weekend, Maelie and Naomie performed another show for us! This time, they charged us an admission fee! We even had reserved seating. Sonia's mom was visiting so she got a special elder seat. This is how they identified it.... SO CUTE!

The song they chose to perform was sung by Keisha (Bla bla bla), hence the make-up. I so am not In-Style so I thought they had put some KISS make up!

They had a great time !!

It was extremely cute! Wonderful memories :)

They created their own routine and were able to somewhat follow it! :)

Maelie's birthday invitations 2012!

It's time for Maelie's birthday invitations once again! I found a great idea online about 8 months ago and vowed to make it for Maelie's bday this year.

Here is the popper standing up. I bought them at Dollarama, peeled off the label they had on it, and covered it wil scrapbooking paper. I added a green arrow showing which way you need to turn. The top is orange.

Once your turn, it pops and confetti comes out along with a string of circles with the invitation on it:

Details about the party are found on each circle.

It's hard to picture and to actually get the *feel* for the invitation so here is a short video of Maelie opening it up.

you can check out the tutorial from Oh Happy Day. That's where I got the idea.

Creative kids on a sunny Sunday :)

Last Sunday, Naomie came over to play with Maelie. Sonia and I had an errand to run. While we were away, the girls had a plan. They headed off to Dollarama and bought a bag of sticks and asked if they could take home some boxes. By the time we got home, they were hard at work and remained hard at work for HOURS! Sonia and I were working on our bday invitations for our daughters and other goodies. By the time we came upstairs ... they had set up a whole puppet theatre! They created their puppets, the theatre, and the script! Including a song! It was extremely cute to see.

The only technical difficulty along the way was that they could not stop laughing!! They were almost in tears since they were laughing too hard!

I am so proud that their imaginations are so wild and creative!! They never have a minute of boredom when they are together.

Thanks for the entertaining show, girls!! Even if we didn't understand the plot so much....!! :)

Hi & Low tournament

Maelie and Makayla placed for the Hi & Low tournament this year. This tournament has one kids with a higher average team up with a kid with a lower average. They play against other bowling alleys. The team with the most pins over average wins! I am so pround of both girls... they WON!! with over 250 above average!! :)

Way to go Maelie and Makayla!!

St-Patrick's Day is done...Easter's coming!

It just dawned on me that I didn't post in quite a while!! St-Patrick's Day came and went with not too much hype!! Lack of time is what the problem is!

Lisa woke up early that day and she made some shamrock cookies.... :) They disappeared quite fast!

My college friend Jacinthe thinks of me on two occasions... St-Patrick's Day and Remembrance Day! I guess they never knew much about St Paddy's in french schools. I was in an english school though and we learned about leprechauns, pots of gold and shamrocks, and all that magical fun stuff!! She mailed me a St-Paddy's card this year!! How sweet! :)

As usual, even if Maelie doesn't believe in leprechauns now, she does appreciate when I dye the toilet water green and pretend the leprechaun used it... ! I may do that until she moves away from home!

On to other holidays..... Easter!

I sewed my Easter curtains for the front door and the washroom. The patterns are pretty cute :)

.... and yes, I have joined the tacky club!! I officially have rabbit ears on my car! and a rabbit tail attached to my trunk! :) It's official... i am THAT type of mom!!  There ARE others... so I am not the only one!!

I have a few other Easter projects I hope to have time to work on... but Easter is so soon this year, I will have to craft overtime!

Happy birthday Lisa!

We celebrated Lisa's birthday a day early this week since she was not going to be home the evening of her actual birthday. 26 year-olds have better things to do than hang out with family on their birthday! LOL

Maelie had prepared Lisa's cards and gifts on the couch and we blew up some balloons. We had some sweet treats in the fridge and picked up some sushi!

Here are Maelie's cutre treats that she wrapped on on her own. She gave Lisa a gift card to Ardene :)

Happy Birthday Lisa! Birthdays DO become better as you age! :)

Hex bug house

We found a shelf at Michael's for 2$! Maelie immediately saw the potential for a Hex bug house. I told her she could pick up some colored paints and paint it herself! She was ecstatic!

Here she is hard at work.... very very very colorful!! Maelie is the queen of bright colors!

We also bought a couple of vinyl tiles for the flooring. Here it is all set up!! Great job sweetheart!!
