Marketing & swimming

Maelie invited her friend Sierra over one day and they decided that they would be selling jewelry. They decorated a box and made signs.

They carried the folding table outside in the 30 degree heat and set up at the end of our driveway.

I brought them supper by the side of the road... but I must say, our street is not a busy street. The only people that go by are people who live here or accidentally end up here. So the girls waited and waited, and complained that it was hot and that they had no customers.

Here is Maelie's French sign

and Sierra's English sign. So adorable!

I suggested to them that perhaps they could try again another day when it was not so hot. So they lugged everything back in and went swimming instead! I hired our trusted lifeguard to help with the duty

The girls had a great time together! They've put their marketing skills on the backburner for a while. It's just too hot a summer!

The next day, Maelie had a bday party to attend. We got Mathieu a gift card but chose to wrap it in a bigger box! We got creative with the wrapping as we kinda ran out of wrapping paper! We used some chalkboard paper! Turns out, we loved it! Maelie was able to decorate it with chalk and colorful ribbon. In the box were a whole bunch of tiny water balloons (not filled with water of course). All the kids apparently had fun popping them by simply squeezing them in their hands!
