Soccer and dog sitting

Yesterday, Maelie insisted that she accompany Tristan to his soccer game so she took off with their family. I met up with them a bit later when it was the actual game (they practice before the game).

It is SO cute and funny to watch a bunch of 7-8 year old playing soccer! They fight for the ball with their own teammates! too cute! They don't seem to quite understand the whole teamwork thing yet!

Maelie decided that she was babysitting Tristan's new dog while Maria did her assistant coach deal. So she walked around with Oscar and sat and watched the game with him. He is soooooo cute!!

Happy bday to me!!

What a beautiful day!! Today was my 35th birthday. 1/6th through my life already! (yes, i AM planning on living to 210 yrs of age)

My day was wonderful... just the way i like my bday! A quiet, happy, normal day but with tons of bday wishes from people far and wide!

Maelie seems to always be extra loving on my special day. It is really nice! Bill, Maelie and I went out for lunch. My boss told me to leave early today, what a wonderful gesture. I wonder if she realizes that such a kind gesture means SO much!

Poor Maelie just got up on this picture... she still has *the look*.

I made a bunch of cupcakes for work! I believe that yes, you CAN make some bday cupcakes on your own bday! It's important to give!

Natalie & the kids made me feel very special today... they invited me over for cake and special presents... and lots of hugs from Merrick!

MMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmm very tasty!!

They sang Happy birthday and then we gobbled the cake up!

A bit of milk with that! MMMMmmm

It was funny how Merrick didn't mind the Scream guy beside him... He was the special guest for my bday i think LOL

Would you like some cake too?

To get Myran to actually look at the camera is quite a feat! You have to trick him!

Before we left, the kids sat in the car. It just gave me visions of my life 8 years from now!!

When we got home, poor Bill had a list of phone messages for me!! The phone didn't stop ringing!

I am very thankful for the family and friends I have, for the life I built, and for the past, present and future. I find that I am in a period in my life where I am living fully, not constantly worried about what others think of me, but more happy with who i am, and all my little quirks. I surround myself with happiness, push away things that are there to bring me down, and just enjoy each moment I have on this earth. I am thankful for everything that ever happened to me in my life as it is pretty much what made me who I am today!

Happy Birthday Me!

Snow ? in June? nah...

Maelie was taking it easy today...

I crafted all day with Natalie and Sonia, so Maelie decided she needed to work on a project too! She made some pretend snow (a kit we got at Michaels a while back). She then took some styrofoam balls and made a snowman.

It was pretty chilly today but I'm not sure it was THIS chilly!!

Busy Saturday !

Saturday, our day started off with a few garage sales. It was very iffy outside... almost raining, but we took our chances.

Maelie had a birthday party to attend at Cosmic Adventures. I was not impressed at all with their service and attitude. I guess sometimes, companies don't really care about going the extra mile. They will not be getting our business again outside of bday parties. Here are some of the kids in the party room after playing around for about an hour or so.

Here is Maelie doing what she likes best at places like this... the game machines!

Natalie had joined us with Merrick and Myran, but they were just playing on their own, not joining the birthday group.

Myran was pretty funny.. he thought we were going to Cosmic Adventures to celebrate my birthday! LOL I love how children think sometimes!!

Unfortunately, Merrick didn't quite understand why we wouldn't let him join the party - full of grade 2 girls nonetheless! He was looking at the group through the glass window with a very sad face.

After the party, we had to rush home because I had a supper to attend! It was a going away supper for a friend, but my friends mixed it up with a birthday supper for me as well! I am so very spoiled! It was a fancy pants pants that I don't usually go to. Jacinthe tried her best to keep it a surprise! Jacinthe, Carole and I always go out for supper for each others birthday so I kinda sispected it, but then she invited Natalie too, and the friend who was actually moving away as well, Christine.

I got cards and a gift card to a craft store (do they know me or what?). Here is a handmade card I received ! Lovely!! i LOVE buttons!!

Here is a BEAUTIFUL cake that Natalie made. The picture was taken in the dark under the kitchen light so it doesn't even do it justice. It is gorgeous!

A view from the top, all hand crafted! Gorgeous!

All in all I had a wonderful day !! I passed out pretty quickly in bed when I got home! Thank you friends!!

Red Walk/Run 2010

Yesterday I participated in the Red Walk/Run to show support for our troops. I was right in the middle of thousands of people!!

Here is the view in front of me:

Here is the view behind me:

I must say that if you are planning to look for someone at the end of a walk like this... make sure you have a cell phone... cuz just saying "look for me. i'll be the one in the red shirt" doesn't work! LOL

Such a beautiful day to walk outside! I am extremely thankful to those serving out country!

Maelie's creative card

Maelie decided to work on a card this week.

She stamped a butterfly and a branch, added lots of glitter on them, and added a cute punch out with Butterfly written on it.

She used a bit blue button to hold the easel part up and added a daisy in the corner.

I love that she is so creative! Beautiful card Maelie!

a money game

Maelie saw a few quarters on the desk last night and decided we were gonna take sequential pictures of her.

Here she is explaining what I must take a picture of.

"Ok mom, so take a picture of me walking that way and the money is falling out of my pockets as I walk"

"Now take a picture of me seeing that the money fell out of my pockets"

"Now take a picture of me picking it up"

"Now take a picture of me crawling to pick it all up"

"Did you take the picture, Mom?"

"Now take a picture of the money."

"I get to keep it right?"

Of course! That's your tip for the performance!
