March in one post!

I have apparently been a slacker for March! It's almost over and I didn't get much posting done. Blame it on... well nothing really! Just the winter blues perhaps? Just too much snow this year!!

We babysat Peluche one weekend. I love to get him bones because he is just too cute with them!

Why is it that if there is a pillow anywhere, dogs will assume it's theirs?

Last weekend, Naomie and Sonia came over. Sonia and I went to run an errand. While we were out, Maelie called to ask me if she could go to the store to buy gum. I said sure! No problem! The girls got home shortly after us... and this picture below is what they looked like!! They planned to go out all costumed (in March) and had already agreed that if someone asked them about it, the would respond that they were going to a costume party. Smart! At least I was pretty sure no one would kidnap these 2 cute girls... because it for SURE would not go unnoticed!! i love how they had so much fun together. They laughed all evening trying on clothes and listening to music. I love how they can just let themselves BE. enjoy the moment. have crazy ideas. Life is short... make the absolute best of it!!

For Bill's bday, we got him some tickets to go see his favorite.... New Jersey Devils! Maelie got all dressed up for the occasion!! That 2$ jersey bought at a yard sale years ago is conveniently used about once a year!! Sadly... she is growing out of it so it may be its last year. Her logo in the face was done on her own in the mirror... hence why it is inverted!

Here she is at Scotiabank place on a date with her daddy! I am glad they can share these moments :)

Bill said she had a TON of energy all evening!! We let her sleep in a little the next day and Bill drove her to school. It's all worth it for the memories :)

Since the weather was finally over 5 degrees, Maelie was able to get on her trampoline! She was sooooooooooo happy! Spring just brings out the best in all of us!! One thing that I noticed is that she is no longer complaining of pain in her foot these days. We had on and off days recently, but since we started seeing the osteopath, she had not complained! coincidence? i think not....!! She had not been able to jump this much on both her feet since her injury last September! Freedom!!!

Maelie was begging to get her bike out. I told her if she could get it out of the shed herself, we could go put air in the tires. She shovelled a path to the shed and managed to get it out!

We walked over to the gas station and filled her tires... and off she went! Riding so comfortably! Having lots of puddle on the street .. she decided to go puddling!

Spring definitely results in more laundry!! :) but we love it!!

Push pops!

What was I up to this afternoon?

Ta-da! Push pops!

With sprinkles of course....

Maelie is wild about these push pops. For some reason, she thinks they taste better than cake. Which really, I use the same cake to make cake, cupcakes and push pops. I guess the cuter... the better!

Myriam came over to play with Maelie and she loves cute creative things just as much as I do... so I let the girls make their own push pop. Without realizing it... they made the opposite pattern!

Yum!!

Enough :)

This year kinda feels like the winter that never ends! It's March and we just got a HUGE amount of snow!

How to get up there....

ta da!! Sitting in our living room looking outside, we see a huge snow pile. I can't wait for that to melt down a little!!

Destination Imagination

Maelie was part of the Destination Imagination team this year at her school. If you want to read more about what DI is, make sure you click on THIS link. It's basically all about teamwork, creativity, challenges, etc!

Maeie's team created a play about a kid who believed in aliens. They included a lot of humor in the play.

All the school teams slept at a local high school. They spent the evening doing ice breaker games and they seem to have had a great time! The parents were encouraged to come by and see the performance the next day. All the schools had a timeframe to present their play, and then in the afternoon they had an instant challenge! We are not allowed to know what the instant challenge was until June... once all the schools in the world have completed them! :)

All in all it was a great experience and a priviliege to have participated! Maelie's team won 2nd place in their age group. I was extremely proud of how her team did... !!

All these wonderful memories with her classmates will shape who she is and becomes... I am glad she has opportunities to try new and interesting things!!

Valentines 2013

I am not sure what it is with 2013... but it is the year that is flying by. It is already March and I haven't blogged about Valentines yet! Let alone anything in between!!

Before Valentines, Myriam came over to make some treats for her class. Maelie helped her out so we could be done faster! She just wanted to play!

We wrapped little gums in the small cellophane 1 X 8 bags, and then tied both ends so that it would look like candy.

Myrian organized all the tags to her liking. It was fun :) I enjoy crafting with her and Maelie.

Then, then night before Valentines, Maelie and I worked on little treats for her class. We packaged fish in baggies. Some pretzel and some cheddar.

The tag said "So glad you are part of my school". Maelie was happy to hand out her treats!

Valentines morning,  Maelie had little hearts waiting for her with treats underneath. We were dog sitting that week so Peluche was trying to see if there was anything for him.

Happy Valentines!!

Maelie ended up hiding a bacon treat in the hearts for Peluche. He had no trouble finding it!

Teacher appreciation week

This year, teacher appreciation week snuck up on me! It's usually Valentines week... but this year it was a week early. Thanks to Pinterest, we managed to find a few ideas for 3 days of treats for staff!

First off was the flower pot filled with suckers! This is where the idea comes from.

We hot glued the ball in the pot and then started poking in suckers we found at Walmart.

Maelie enjoyed the fact that she could participate.

We had to punch them in once in a while!! We managed to fill it with about 110 suckers!!

Missing something?

How about a ribbon to finish it off? We also added a sign thanking the staff at Maelie's school.

Day 2, we filled 1X8 bags with M&Ms.

Then I added a cute little poem that I found at this website. I had the poem printed at Staples as the color quality is much better than the printer we have here! Aren't they adorable?

The final idea of the week was some Extra gum packs. I saw the idea online and just modified the poem.

Didn't it turn out cute? It smelled so minty in my kitchen even through the wrapping! :)

Maelie was quite proud to give her treats away to the staff. She loves to give!! Just like I do. I hope they were happy with our treats this week! :)

Happy bday Bill!

Feb 3rd was Bill's birthday. Maelie was up at 5 am to make sure we had everything ready for when he got up! He prefers to wake up in a *slower* way.

He was barely up when he was bombarded with his presents.

He was able to survive through that and then sit in the living room with his coffee..... followed by cheesecake!! There's nothing like early morning cheesecake! LOL

We had a nice lunch at the buffet :) Happy bday Bill!!
