a visit with grand-papa and Lucie

Today, grand-papa and Lucie drove to town for a visit. They were heading off to Mont St-Sauveur with Lucie's brother and sister in law, so they decided to leave a day early and come to see us. How fun!! :)

It was a GORGEOUS day today, 34 degrees and sunny. The weather called for thunder storms, however we got about 6 drops of rain and then it returned to blue skies! Maelie was ecstatic that they joined her in the pool!

Maelie had a great time!! I like to think that our visitors did too! The pics kinda say it all!

We ended up going to Boston Pizza for supper. Yum!

Once back home, Maelie sat down and watched wrestling with Bill. She bought herself a wrestling ring. She sets it up when they watch wrestling and sets up her players on the ropes! It's pretty cute! Not girly... but cute anyway!! :)

I am really glad that my dad went out of his way for a visit! He is not a traveller at all so it is wonderful to be able to see him in our home!

Now off to bed.... tomorrow will be here soon enough!!

Sunny Sunday

Today as the weather was going up in the 30's, I suggested to Maelie that we go out and find a new pool toy since Natalie and the boys were coming. We got this ginormous sombrero!

It was hard to get up! We tried to keep them sitting down on it as if the toy bumped on the side of the pool, a kid could easily fall out! Not the ideal toy for an above ground pool!! but fun nonetheless.

I took out a few packs of pop rocks I had around the house. The kids seemed to enjoy that! Maelie put them all in, but then proceeded to spitting them out in the garbage. She doesn't like most candy, but she just wanted the popping sensation!

Myran on the other hand was eating them one pop rock at a time! hehe so cute!

They relaxed again while coloring on the trampoline. It looks so comfy laying there with not a worry in the world!

As I was tidying up in the evening, Maelie took out her nerf guns and she and Bill tried to him the bullseye on her chalkboard!

I don't know who came this close but it was almost in! :)

more company on the horizon or Monday....
3 clues as to who it may be:

1- they come but once a year
2- usually it is in or around the beginning of April
3- they look at the pics on my blog regularly

any guesses? (unless i told you already!!)

Splashy hot day!

Today we headed off to the water park with Natalie, Merrick and Myran. You probably can't tell but all three kids are in this picture!

Myran liked being surprised with this water jet! It started right up his nose at one time!

The kids used two big buckets to transport water to the sand. They built a pyramid.

A bit of swinging...

Followed by the usual snail hunting!

Maelie loves having the snails walk up her arm leaving a slimy trail behind!

Myran seems to have the same idea here! To think he was not very sure about this snail thing before. Now he loves it!

Maelie found a new home for them in Natalie's sandals!

Once we got home to swim, I filled a giant balloon with water and the kids jumped with it on the trampoline. Maelie ended up kicked in the butt a few times by the balloon!

They waited patiently for more water balloons to have a water balloon fight!

Maelie seems to have something in mind....

She ensured they separated the balloons evenly for the three kids.

Once done with the balloons, they settled down on the trampoline and colored for a bit.

After supper, we decided to drop by Merveilles de Sable at Lac Beauchamp to see what what we could see after closing hours. The beach remained open but the sand sculptures were blocked off. I still got a picture.

Maelie was much more interesting in hunting for fish and frogs!!

She caught a few fish today! Which she returned to the lake on our way out...

I couldn't help myself but write her name in the sand as usual!

What a wonderful day! I am LOVING this summer weather and all the company! and to think this is just the beginning of summer! The week ahead us supposed to be a HOT HOT HOT week!!

Omega Park!

I must admit, we LOVE going to visit Omega Park! When we visit, we seem to just laugh and laugh so hard all the way through!

Even little Brennan was laughing away in the back seat because we were laughing so hard. He probably was not sure why we were laughing... but it was funny.

Maelie was trying to get the wapiti to come inside the car with us!

Nathan was trying to feed them faster than they could ever chew! He was not scared AT ALL!

We hopped on to the wago connected to a tractor and headed off to the farm.

Nathan enjoyed a little pony ride. He would NOT look at the lady holding the horse. He looked the other way the whole time!

Maelie also enjoyed a ride! Lucas did not follow. He was resting with his mom as he had a headache.

I am not sure why Nathan opted to go into the treehouse by the window instead of the door... but he enjoyed it!

After a nice time at Omega Park, we had lunch at "La Belle Bedaine" in Montebello and then we went our separate ways. Jo and the boys were returning to my moms to relax before returning to PEI. Maelie and I headed home.

Natalie and the kids and Sonia came over to craft. I had some bday cards I needed to work on. The kids enjoyed playing, as did the grown ups!! Hereare the kids dressed up in interesting mixes of costumes!

I think we were alllll worn out that night! :) but it was a lot of fun.

Happy Canada Day

On Canada Day, we headed off to the Canadian Museum of Nature. Museums are free on Canada Day in Ottawa. We learned pretty quickly that it is better to pay to go to the museum when you have a double stroller in tow, and 4 kids!!

This is the view from the top.... I think the people were hiding when I took this picture because it was multiplied by about 20 all around!!

We stopped by Montana's to eat lunch. This is one of the only smiling pics of Lucas that I have! When we take pictures, he usually tries to make a silly face. But this time I tricked him!

Nathan was enjoying eating his ketchup. Why bother ordering fries?

Once we were all well fed, we headed off to Little Ray's Reptile Zoo. Maelie and I have our season passes so it was a cheap outing.

We love going there because of the educational hands on stuff!

After our interesting visit, we went home, had supper and relaxed. After supper, we headed off to the Museum of civilization area to watch the fireworks!

Here is Maelie with the Parliament in the background.

We waited patienyl for the darkness to come for the fireworks to start!

They were gorgeous! I enjoyed looking at the kids faces.

Lucas advised that he wants to come back to Ottawa for every single Canada Day! I guess the fireworks were worth it!!

The babies were SO good and patient considering we dragged them around and didn't let them have a long nap! LOL What joy !!
