As we usually do, Sonia, the kids and I went to McDonald's for McHappy Day. The money collected goes to the Ronald McDonald House and other children's charities. With an illness such as cystic fibrosis, you end up needing all the support you can get from the different charities!

Award & gift
At work, I was the lucky recipient of an award! Outstanding team player ! :) I guess it's becaise I enjoy helping out people so much, and it shows. The award was handed out to me in front of WAY TOO MANY people! I was very embarassed to have to walk up in front of the group. Best part of it? I was brave enough to just be myself and wear my Crocs! LOL This in itself was funny because most of the other recipients were military staff. They don't have the opportunity to wear crocs at work! :)
With this award came a gift! I could choose anything I wanted for a certain dollar amount. I felt it was the perfect opportunity to get a new camera. My old one still worked, but was getting a little finicky.
So I got a Nikon Coolpix. To photographers, this is no big deal. But for me ? It's a gift and I love it.
I played with it a little and got this cute pic of my baby lying down on the couch :)
And here is an adorable pic of Peluche relaxing on the trampoline.
I was really proud to have received an award! Especially since in my job, you don't often get some due to the *nature* of the job. I don't work at the accomplishment of a specific task... I just do day to day saving the world work. **no I do not save the world... but I help people.**

Clip N Climb
After the Grimpe o thon, Maelie really wanted to go to Clip N Climb to climb some more! So a couple days later, we went. Note that this was on a *good* foot day. We're still dealing with the good and the bad days.
She is so brave!!
Maelie especially likes these green poles. I put the pics together for a step by step...
She has nothing to grip on to once she gets to the final one so this is it! There are really high!!
She was happy with her fun afternoon. :) I am glad she enjoys hanging out with her mama!

Grimpe-o-thon 2013
Friday we attended Naomie's class' fundraiser Grimpe-o-thon. The sudents basically spend hours helping people rock climb. I have no clue what the rock climbing vocabulary is...!!
This is a small wall just beside the big wall where kids can just practice and burn energy.
We noticed that some of the rocks has Naomie spelled on them in her honour ! (green rocks right on top of her)
Yes, we are cool! Even sitting right in front of the spotlights hurting our eyes! LOL
yeee-haw! Let's get wild!
Naomie is getting Maelie ready for some BIG rock climbing now!
Of course, the ONE time Maelie did end up climbing high, I had stepped out for a quick errand so I don't have it on camera! I did get this picture when she was going down though!
It was a fun, relaxed evening! The teens had the opportunity to show their friends and family what they learned so far this year! :)
Happy birthday Naomie!
Tuesday the 16th was Naomie's 14th birthday. Maelie went to celebrate with her and her friends in Kingston last weekend, however on her actual bday, we went out for dinner at Madison's. We were there before Naomie with a few bday balloons!
Birthday girl seemed very happy!
What a genuine hug to her mama!
Of course, once Maelie gets a hold of my camera, tradition seems to be taking a picture of Salt or Pepper... as evidenced in an October 2012 post, and in this January 2013 post. It seems as if the pair has finally reconciled as seen is this picture.... together! Maelie crack me up :) She sometimes gets my stupid sense of humour and knows how to make me laugh.
Here's the crew as we left!
Loving friends :)
Happy Bithday Naomie!!

Happy Birthday Maelie!!
My little baby turned 11 today! I can hardly believe it!!
Last night, she was in bed by 6:15 so I decorated the living room for her and put all her gifts and cards out.
When she came down this morning at 5:45, she was so excited!
First thing she did of course was open up her presents.
When she opened up this present, her face was a bit puzzled. Why would I be giving her an umbrella?
I told her to open it. She said she would wait til later. I told her no no... open it now! So she did and there was a money rainshower!
After the gifts, we had breakfast birthday cake! We are allowed birthday cake for breakfast in this house! :) Dairy Queeen Ice cream cake... yum, yum!!
Maelie has been saving her money for a while. She was hoping to get enough money for her birthday to buy an I Pad 2. Luckily... she had enough! We told her we would go get in another day since Bill was working this afternoon. Little did she know... we had other plans! Bill went out and got it during the day. After setting it all up, he hid it in the dryer. When Maelie came home, she was feeling quite blue. She wasn't feeling well during the day and was rather sad that this was how her birthday was coming to a close. I asked her to go get my jeans in the dryer and that after, everything would be better. So she went.... and all i could hear was SCREEEEEEAMING!!! She ran upstairs and could not believe what was happening! All evening she was not sure this was true!
We put the I pad aside and went for supper with Naomie, Sonia and Elena. Best friends forever :)
What? no silly face for the camera???
The restaurant brought her some cake and sang Happy Birthday to her! She was one happy little girl!
Maelie, I love you with all my heart, and even more! You are growing up to be such a wonderful young woman. You are helpful, compassionate, loving, kind, respectful, friendly and I am having so much fun being your mama! Thank you for being patient with me as I navigate my way through pre teen years with you. I hope you will look back at this blog every year and feel the love that I have for you!
