New neighbor

Maelie finally got to meet our new neighbor. She is younger than her but she still wanted to introduce her to Goo! Of course! No one can come to our house without making goo.

We found super long straws at the dollar store.... makes me wonder who invents these things sometimes! Maelie thinks these are the absolute coolest!

She had a fun afternoon, but was a bit tired at the end! 6 year olds are a lot of work! LOL

One of our favorite places

Yesterday was bowling in the morning but in the afternoon I really wanted to go get our yearly pass for Little Ray's Reptile zoo, and also book Maelie's birthday party in April. Maelie asked her bowling friend Melyna to come along for the ride. So Annick and Melyna hopped in since they had never been. Maelie was SO excited to share one of her favorite places in the world with Melyna. From what I could tell, it was her type of fun place too!! The girls went around looking at all of the reptiles and occasional non-reptile.

We went to the hands on show and the girls were able to hold a scorpion. I love that they just give us SO much information at these hands on sessions throughout the day. I am always amazed at the knowledge they have and how friendly and captivating the staff is.

The girls were able to touch a python. I forget what kind but it was pretty big. Not as big as it will get though! We basically had front row seats for this one!

This little guy seemed to be interested in the visitors today!

Here is a view of the room where they do their shows. It was a PACKED place today! I had never seen it this full!

We watched a snake feeding and as usual that is kinda gross, but cool at the same time.

Here you can see the little mouse tail sticking out.... ewwww...

We had a wonderful time!!

Blurry funky picture!

On Friday it wasrmed up enough for Maelie to use the trampoline. It was 12 degrees!
I took a picture but it turned out really funky! This newer camera is not used to my picture taking yet... or should I say the owned is not super familiar with different types of shots yet? :) i did think Maelie looked kinda see through on the picture!

Candy-grams and Valentine sweets

For Valentines Day at work, the social committee had people order candy-grams for colleagues. They paid 1$ per candy-gram and we delivered then all this morning. This is what they looked like all packed up together!! We had about 400!!!

We then had a get together at lunch. People brought their own lunches but we supplied the desserts which included this cute chocolate fountain.... yum yum....

Each table all had Valentines confetti and snacks as well.

It was really enjoyable and a success according to everyone who attended!!

What have we been up to?

Here's a picture recap of what we have been up to for the last week (which actually feels like months!)

It was teacher's appreciation week this week so we prepared a couple things for Maelie's teacher. Here is on the candy boxes we made (with the name blocked out a bit):

Here it is opened up:

Maelie and Tristan played with the goo, of course....

They put bugs and animals in it and had a great time!!

I went to Maelie's class to finish up our Valentine craft and at the end they gave me a bouquet ! Beautiful!

They also prepared a beautiful card for me! I loved it :)

We brought little cupcakes for the staff at school...

On Sunday, Maelie had her bowling tournament. She is part of the 4-steps to stardom tournament.

The coach was trying to get them in the groove before the start...

Here is the team with the coach

They had a rough couple of games, but they did catch up a bit and ended up with the bronze medal. Hopefully they will get their usual high score at the Provincial tournament in 2 weeks!!

This morning we woke up a bit pooped!! So many things to keep us busy in so little time....

Maelie opened up her little Valentines gifts from us and then I headed off to work for quite the Valentine filled day!

lovely February!

Well February is starting off with a bang! It was Bill's bday on the 3rd and of course Maelie had to get him up and at 'em really early!! Poor Bill, barely out of bed and already opening a couple of presents.

We got to babysit this little guy for the day & night on Friday. We always love when he comes over! Peluche is a sweetie!

Naomie also stayed for the night! The girls were playing Just Dance 2. That game is SO funny! The moves you have to make, and the speed you have to make them at.... OUCH! I try it once in a while when no one is watching!

On Saturday Maelie had bowling and she played above her average for all three games. That was great! In the afternoon her friend Chyanna came over for a sleepover. It was Chyanna's first sleepover at a friends house. She was very comfortable! The favorite activity of all time of all kids who visit my house is making Goo! I need to stock up on supplies! Maelie and Chyanna made pink and purple Goo.

This morning, I made some pink waffles! I am so into pink and red right now due to Valentines!

I prepared a little buffet of sprinkles for the girls.

They decorated their pancakes and gobbled them all up!

After breakfast we got dressed and headed off to Bal de Neige (winterlude). I wanted to go really early because being such a nice warm day, I knew it would be packed very early on!! These carved snowflakes were so cute!!

The girls got to go down quite a few slides before the line got too long.

This oversized chair was calling us to take a picture!!

Wonderful caring mother that I am, I asked Maelie to stick her head in the tree for a picture! LOL and she did....!

Smile!

We are so blessed with nice warm weather! I love being able to get out and do fun stuff with Maelie :)

wishing for a snow day!

Maelie and I were wishing for a snow day today! We got the snow... but we didn't get the snow day! Maelie had school and I had to work.... but once she got home, we made our snow day happen!

Ice Crystals

Naomie came to play with Maelie yesterday since Sonia had to go to a funeral. The girls went outside and came back with these!

a bit of ice...

a bit of branches....

a bit of smiling with nice red cheeks....

a couple of friends... a whole lotta fun!
