more winter fun...

It seems all my posts are winter fun related this past while!! That's awesome!! I am really happy Maelie gets to spend so much time outdoors enjoying winter sports :)

Maelie went sliding with Naomie this past weekend. I don't have pictures of that since I was not with them. I do have a picture where they are enjoying their smoothies afterwards!

Naomie had her friends Maelie and Marie-Eve over. I am glad they can get along! It is sometimes hard for three people to get along well. I am so glad they are able to enjoy their time together and not be jealous of each other.

Poor Peluche was a bit jealous of the girls though!! He wanted a bit of smoothie too....!

Once their drinks were done, the girls headed out to skate for a little bit. It was so cute! Naomie and Marie-Eve were at ease on the ice, but Maelie was a little more nervous.... she is getting better and better though!! Naomie asked her to go in circles... but she just was not ready for that yet!

I love seeing my baby so happy!! and excited to be active!

Skating!

Maelie got some new skates at Christmas! This time she got really comfy cozy ones. The fun part of skating is of course throwing yourself in the snow!!

The ice was pretty rough...

but she skated all around over and over anyway!

She is definitely my sweetheart!

At last! some snow!

Maelie made some plans with her friends Xavier and Tristan to play today. It has not stopped snowing in two days (at last! we were out of snow). So we invited Naomie to come over as well and we all went sliding! It was absolutely gorgeous out there!

Here are the kids getting ready to go down....

The girls tried their new Zipfy's! They got these at Christmas.

Thankfully the Zipfy's are very light to bring back up the hill!

Off we go again!!

They tried a few rides on Xavier's sled as well...

The 4 of them headed off to a clean area to snack on a bit of "clean" snow! Yum yum!!

After about an hour and a half, we came back home. Naomie had to leave as soon as we got back because she had a supper to go to. Tristan, Xavier and Maelie sat down for a little snack and hot chocolate with marshmallows....

Yum yum......!!

It was a beautiful carefree day!

At bowling this morning, Maelie also found out that she placed 3rd in the 4-Step to Stardom tournament team. This tournament is a team of 4 that competes regionally, and if they win, they eventually can end up at the nationals!! Let's hope the girls make it that far!!! For the next few months they will be practicing A LOT. I am VERY excited for Maelie to have this opportunity!!

2011 - Week 1

Our new year started off very nice! Relaxing :) I was on vacation all week so we took it easy.

It was filled with playing with new toys...

A bit if Wii competition between Maelie and I...

Maelie had a birthday party to attend at Fun Junction. She had a great time! It was a great distraction!

She managed to climb up the rock climbing wall. Way to go!

She has been slightly obsessed with her hair this week.... tying it up at the back, what little she can since it is short!

Maelie has also been mildly obsessed with pyjamas! She got a few new ones from La Senza girl - the "girl" part is closing so everything is half priced. She LOVED the softness of her new jammies.

This week I also have been putting away the Christmas decorations.... I am trading them in for Valentine's stuff! Here are my Valentine rubber duckies!

Bill is coming back from Winnipeg today so we will pick him up at the airport. Maelie is very very excited about his return!!

Christmas vacation time

As we headed back home on the 26th, Maelie had time to play with her new toys. She had set up her hexbug habitat and racetrack and was trying it out with all her Hexbugs.

It was really cute to see them run all around!

She also had a chance to sit and pick a book from her Dear Dumb Diary series. I am really hoping she will enjoy reading for pleasure more and more!

We had a little guest at our house on the 27th. Peluche was visiting for 6 days!!

My mom had found an old recipe she used to make when I was younger. I didn't remember this until I tasted the cookies! They are hazelnut and to die for. I will NOT be making these in my house ever again! They disappear too fast!

Maelie got to work cleaning her bowling balls since we were going bowling all together.

The challenge was mainly grand-maman and I because we knew Maelie would beat us! LOL

Which she did for both games.... but I did come 2nd! It is pretty hard to actually DO what Maelie's coaches say to do! LOL I hear it every practice and every game, so you would think i would score higher! Practice is what helps i guess!

We did a bit of shopping while grand-maman was here. I found this PERFECT two tiered plate at Winners. I HAD to get it. I am in love with most tiered plates. The higher the better... however this one was way too cute to resist.

This was grand-maman's gift. A plate. She ADORED it. She would not buy it for herself as it was pricey but since she had been looking for this plate forever... I went back to the store the next day and surprised her with it! She was ecstatic!

Maelie wanted us to have a raclette while grand-maman was here. So on the last night, we set it all up. Maelie did a lot of the work setting up! Such a sweetheart!

Even if it is a lot more work to prepare all the stuff that to just throw it in a pan, it is worth it for the pleasure Maelie has!

We drove grand-maman back home on the 30th and stayed overnight. Peluche came with us for the long trip! We came back on the 31st just in time for the new year :)
