Day 17 started off differently than other days! I left at about 5:15 to go to Walmart in Ottawa. It's open 24 hours so I did my groceries and came home to find Maelie and Lisa already up! So they took charge of the advent calendar while I was away.... but they DID remember to take pictures!! :)

We went to bowling in the morning. Maelie placed 1st for the 4 step tournament! This means that she is now part of the team of 4 that will train to go to regionals, provincials and nationals if they make it that far! Of course I wish they'd make it to the nationals because they are held in Newfoundland this year in May. When else would I get the chance to go to Newfoundland! My priority though, is that Maelie enjoys herself during the competition and that she develops skills, friendship and good sportsmanship.
After bowling we came home and soon after, the phone rang. Friends from school wanted her to come over and play. So off she went for the afternoon and part of the evening. When I picked her up, surprise surprise, she had lost 2 of her bottom teeth!! One on each side! They were holding by a pointy end, no wonder she had been so sore recently. Both of these teeth had a tiny filling on them. Good riddance!
Once back home, Maelie helped me out with the teacher gifts for this year. Her homeroom teacher will be getting something non edible because she is extremely health conscious and will not eat sweets. Plus, she will not be getting a Christmas gift but a Hanukkah gift. I don't want to post a pic yet, but it's awesome!

I enjoy making these arrangements. They are a lot of work and time consuming ... and my kitchen becomes a dysfunctional area, but i enjoy it a lot and i love they way they turn out! :) If a person happens to not like chocolate, well they can always offer it to someone, so either way, people are happy.
1 week 'til Christmas Eve!!!!!
