Christmas vacation time

As we headed back home on the 26th, Maelie had time to play with her new toys. She had set up her hexbug habitat and racetrack and was trying it out with all her Hexbugs.

It was really cute to see them run all around!

She also had a chance to sit and pick a book from her Dear Dumb Diary series. I am really hoping she will enjoy reading for pleasure more and more!

We had a little guest at our house on the 27th. Peluche was visiting for 6 days!!

My mom had found an old recipe she used to make when I was younger. I didn't remember this until I tasted the cookies! They are hazelnut and to die for. I will NOT be making these in my house ever again! They disappear too fast!

Maelie got to work cleaning her bowling balls since we were going bowling all together.

The challenge was mainly grand-maman and I because we knew Maelie would beat us! LOL

Which she did for both games.... but I did come 2nd! It is pretty hard to actually DO what Maelie's coaches say to do! LOL I hear it every practice and every game, so you would think i would score higher! Practice is what helps i guess!

We did a bit of shopping while grand-maman was here. I found this PERFECT two tiered plate at Winners. I HAD to get it. I am in love with most tiered plates. The higher the better... however this one was way too cute to resist.

This was grand-maman's gift. A plate. She ADORED it. She would not buy it for herself as it was pricey but since she had been looking for this plate forever... I went back to the store the next day and surprised her with it! She was ecstatic!

Maelie wanted us to have a raclette while grand-maman was here. So on the last night, we set it all up. Maelie did a lot of the work setting up! Such a sweetheart!

Even if it is a lot more work to prepare all the stuff that to just throw it in a pan, it is worth it for the pleasure Maelie has!

We drove grand-maman back home on the 30th and stayed overnight. Peluche came with us for the long trip! We came back on the 31st just in time for the new year :)
