.... and off we go

Today Maelie has a bowling tournament. She is part of the team sent from her bowling alley for the Pee-Wee division. They select two boys and two girls that play the highest above their average. The team plays against other teams from this area. The winning team is the team that plays the highest above their average for two games. It should be cute because it is ageas 4-8! This will be the last week that Maelie is part of the Pee Wee's as she is probably joining the Bantam in a couple of weeks.

(Here is Maelie's new carry on luggage!! Don't you love it???? )

After the tournament, Maelie and I are heading out to PEI to help my sister out. Jo suffered from a bad ear infection that left her partially deaf! and a lot of other problems that come with an ear infection. She was in the hospital for 4 days. My mom went to help out for almost a week and now it is my turn. I only have one sister and I am hoping to keep her forever! So if i can help her out in any way i can, i will do so!

Maelie will therefore be out of school for 2 weeks. She was very happy about that! This is the advantage of having a child that does well in school! Two weeks will not ruin her scool year! Technically, it is a very educational trip as well since we are going by train... therefore there is a lot of potential for learning about the places we will see. Or just watching endless episodes of Zack & Cody, Sixteen and the Simpsons. Now there's education for ya. We were VERY fortunate to get a great deal on a sleeper cabin to go out there! YAY! But for the return trip we will be in normal seats since it would have been about 300$ extra to get a room! Maybe when we get closer to our return... I will check and see if they have last minute upgrades available for a decent price.

I may try and post some details of our trip.... but I may just have my hands full! I will for sure post when we return February 5th.

See you then!!

new banner time

As you can see, I put up a new banner. I wanted to be in the Valentine's theme!

On Friday, Maelie received a parcel! She was SO excited. It came from her oldest sister Lisa!! As she was touching the box she said "I can't believe Lisa touched the same box!!" It was full of surprises for Maelie and for us! Thank you very much Lisa for your generosity and thoughtfulness!

On Saturday, we slept in until 7! Miracle by my standards! Then in the afternoon we went to Natalie's house as she and I were working on our Valentine ideas for our upcoming workshops. Maelie played with Merrick and Myran. We had a great time! Believe me, my idea of a WONDERFUL evening if crafting!!

Sunday, we had a quiet morning. Maelie enjoyed a bit of wrestling with her daddy.

I love the look on her face on this picture!! She FREAKED out! Of course I did what a wonderful protective mom would do! I took the camera out and told them to fight!

This afternoon Maelie has a birthday party to attend. It is at the Midway. She has already filled her wallet with all extra money she has to spend it on coins for the games! I guess I better go wrap the present! I had completely forgotten to do that part! and considering I am still in my jammies... I may need to consider getting dressed too!

a quiet weekend

After my shopping Saturday morning, the rest of the weekend was pretty quiet.

I must say Bill has the patience of a Saint when it comes to playing Monopoly with Maelie! They played for about 2 hours with her Simpson's monopoly game.

Afterwards, Bill blew up Maelie's big tube! We needed to see if it would fit in the car when we go sliding!

Sunday I ended up with a headache all day which made it hard to focus on one task. I did many little things around the house. One thing i definitely loved was the changing of the sprinkles!! The Christmas sprinkles were put away and the Valentines sprinkles were taken out and organized!

These are all signs that Valentine's Day is on its way!

Compulsive much?

That's what happens when they are 75% off!!

Long time no update!!

It's been a while since my last update, mainly because we have been so busy!!

My mom came for a visit with Linda on the 28th. When my mom comes she enjoys when I take her to specific stores she doesn't have back home: Michaels, Chapters, Bulk Barn. Those are pretty much my usual. Since Linda was there, and my mom was open to a more unique shopping experience, I brought then all over! We visited Pritchard's packing (drool), Party packagers (drool), Home Outfitters, Artistic Cake and Design, etc etc etc! I lost track!! We had a wonderful time.

Maelie was in charge of the soup with her new slap chop.

We decided to have Linda & Maelie pose together. Linda is a wonderful family friend! Maelie loves when she is there because she plays with her... this time they played Mario Kart on the Wii! Linda is pretty good! I can't say the same thing for my mom and Mario kart though....

Maelie loves her grand maman! She is surrounded by so many people who love her a lot, what a blessing!!

Maelie drew a picture of her favorite sport on her blackboard:

On New Year's Even we went to Lac Beauchamp for a bit of sliding. The snow was just falling so perfectly!! It was quite the winter wonderland!

After returning home, we had a Skype chat with Grandma and Cindy. Maelie made then a card and opened it up while chatting. The joys of technology!

On the New Year, we headed off to the airport to get Bill! They have a huge tree in the same spot every year.

Maelie was qatching the escalator waiting for her daddy to pop out!!

What a happy moment! Of course when she saw him and ran to hug him, someone stood in front of my camera! So i got this as a picture after ! Nothing beats the initial meeting!

I love watching people greeting family and friends at the airport! I was actually teary-eyed today when I saw one family. It was really moving.

Maelie was of course a little chatterbox on our way home! She was really happy to have her family together. She really wished her sisters were there though! She misses them like crazy!

We enjoyed a quiet afternoon and went out for supper. It was quieter than expected in the restaurant! Hardly anyone!

I fell asleep before Maelie and Bill. I was just so pooped! Of course I am the only one up though at 5 am the next day :)

Now that Christmas and New Year's day are over.. it's time to focus on a fresh start! The start of another wonderful, fun filled year.

Happy 2010 everyone!!
