I set up a bit of candy on the counter. I am a LUCKY mom... Maelie doesn't like candy! So if the jars go down... it's Bill's fault for sure!

Weekend recap
Well, the weekend is almost over. To recap what we did, here are a few photos.

First off, I had promised Maelie that we would make some homemade playdough. Bill managed to pick up the LAST little packet of kool aid in order to dye it. Since we didn't have much, it turned out kinda mouldy green. But Maelie was ecstatic! She finally made playdough with her mama!

On Saturday morning, Maelie started her bowling! She is now part of the league and her team will be formed by next Sturday. They had to test the new kids first. She did pretty good on her first day! SHe was disappointed that she wasn't going again EVERY day. Let's hope she keeps that enthusiasm up all year!!

Bowling seems to be a bit more involved than I expected though. There are tournaments, badges, parties, fundraising, etc. Here I thought I was just bringing her there for 2 hours and coming home. I guess it's not as easy as I thought. At this point in my life, I need to keep things simple. So we will go regularly and we will see about any other bowling related activities. I am not willing to run around like a chicken with my head cut off.
This morning, Maelie noticed that many leaves had fallen from our gorgeous tree.

She ran out back and got the rake. She was determined to get a big pile of leaves to jump in.

I really love the change of season. Fall is so beautiful. You can hardly feel summer anymore, you can now feel the fall wind.

Change is nice. Change is needed.

Tradition: apple picking!
Today Maelie really felt like apple picking. She insisted we take her friend Chris along (our neighbor).

This is what Maelie gets out of her guy friends:

I asked Maelie to move the branches so I could see her!

She really pushes her limits even with her fear of heights:

Why is it the ONLY apples the kids would pick were the ones up at the top??

Pie making
Yesterday my mom set up shop in the kitchen to make Bill some pies. Since I don't ever make pies. (yes he is spoiled)
Jacinthe came over and so Koryne and Raphael hopped right into production!

Maelie was working on the merangue for the lemon merangue pie.

Here they are hard at work with the leftover dough.

I think what the kids liked best though was the quality assurance .... a.k.a taste test.
MMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
