Playing
Since our life is kinda back to routine now, our many visitors have returned home, I took my paper crafts out and relaxed! (Please don't get me wrong, i LOVE company and would prefer having them over longer!!) but once people are gone, I do a few things just for me. :) Which include crafting.
Here are a few results of my playing.

I really like this one (using completely different colors):

I didn't make the idea up myself. I found the idea on Splitcoast stampers. I am not sure how to give credit to the person who put it up there so I will just link it. I did change the text and some colors, but other than that, it's pretty much the same. I do wonder if it's ok to take peoples ideas like that and then just make up your own card? I assume it is as long as you give credit. Please correct me if I am morally wrong, it is not my intention!

Family picture
This is probably as "Family" as a picture can get with these 3 (errr... i mean 4. Sorry Bebe lapin)! hahaha
Maelie is not used to have a baby in the house. Let's just say, her personality fits well with Nathan. He is very busy, and she doesn't dare touch him, pick him up or stop him from going anywhere. So they got along fine.
A moment in the life of Nathan

Nathan's favorite activity while he was here was going up and down and back up and down the stairs and then repeat at least 10 times. Notice that Nathan is never alone. He is constantly watched over by Bebe lapin.
On a side note, yes, this is our beautiful puke pink colored carpet in our stairs! This used to be a hot color I guess for carpet in our area. Nothing can beat that I guess, not even the hot teal we had in the basement or the even lighter beige/pink upstairs.

Nathan won't feel so alone
The weekend that flew by... AGAIN
This weekend was very busy as usual! Between getting ready for Jo's visit with the boys (aka hiding everything that can be put in a toddlers mouth - IMPOSSIBLE), going to a funeral, going out stamping, and having a play date... the weekend was already over.
Maelie went for a sleep over on Saturday. Boy do I miss her when she is out and about. I don't want to lock her in the house with me forever because apparently that wouldn't be good for HER. So I let her venture the world. She is growing up to be such a wonderful kid, I must be doing something right! LOL I guess giving her independence helps a lot.
That evening I was going to my stamping club at Tracie's house. . It was my first time and I really enjoyed it! Here are the 2 cards we made:

Sorry for the poor photography! Chances are higher that your pics will look a bit crooked when you take then at 4:30 in the morning.
On Sunday, it was absolutely gorgeous. I got a bit of crafting done in the morning before Maelie came home. Here are 2 of the cards I made:

At lunch time, we each had a play date. Lorraine came over to hang out and brought Sierra with her so that Maelie could play. I absolutely do not know how 4 hours of talking can fly by. We went to the park for a bit, and then the girls made crafts at home.

It's always nice to talk with Lorraine. We used to work together and it seems we never had enough time to just TALK! I guess anyone who knows me knows I enjoy talking. A lot. (well of course, listening too!!)
After supper, I ended up doing my duty and cleaning the pet area downstairs. That was QUITE the job! I guess that's what happens when the nice weather is out... you tend to postpone the chores. This is one that could not be postponed anymore!

a Mom
As adults, I find that we try and search for who we are. Well me anyway.
A lot of times in the blogging world and the real world, in magazines and on tv, many people say they don't know who they are since they've been a mom and/or a wife and/or a career woman.
My true identity is a Mom first. I LOVE being a mom. I cherish my child and love her with all my heart and soul. Once she is grown and out of the house, I know I will have lots to keep me occupied. But I will ALWAYS be a mom first.
I attended a funeral today, a coworker's mom passed away at age 87. They had a painting of this Mom at the front of the church. You could feel the joy, love and energy in that picture. The speech written by her only daughter also spoke wonders about how this woman was. This woman was a Mom first. She loved and cherised her daughter with all her being. You can feel this when you meet her daughter. You can feel that she was loved by her mother. I can't explain why. But I can feel it. In the speech she mentioned how her mother always told her how proud she was of her. THIS is what a grown-up remembers about childhood. How your parent(s) loved you no matter what, how they encouraged you and were proud of you and TOLD you and showed you.
The service was wonderful and the words spoke to me. It confirmed that the unconditional love I give my daughter is not too much. You can never spoil a child with too much love. This is actually what my grandmother Matante used to say. She lived for her children first.
I tell Maelie how proud of her I am, how beautiful I think she is inside and out. When she does a good deed or thinks of someone else, I make sure I acknowledge that I saw what she did and that I am proud and I tell her she has the right to be proud of herself too. These are the things I want her to remember when she is grown up. And when it comes time for my funeral one day (in about 80 years), I would love for her to write me a letter like the one that was shared at today's funeral.

you know your kid is growing up when...
Maelie started out calling mommy.
It has worked it's way between mommy and mama.
Recently, she called me Ma.
When I questioned her "Ma???"
She replied "yeah, it's short for mama."
I can just hear what comes next....
"hey Ma, i need 20 bucks to go out with my friends tonight. and the keys to your car"
Where has the time gone???

Happy Easter!!
Happy Easter to all!
Yesterday before going to bed, Maelie set up a little table for the Easter Bunny.
Included is: a glass of water, rabbit pellets, and a rabbit treat.

Maelie insisted we go to bed early so morning would come faster. At 3 am, she woke up and said "mom, can i just PLEASE go check?" um... at 3:00 am?? NO! Same thing happened at 4 am and 5 am. Finally, at 6 am, she got up and found a trail of Easter surprises left by the Easter bunny during the night! With the help of her trusted sidekick of course!

Bebe lapin found the new friend pretty cute.

The rabbit ate his treat and some of his pellets, and of course, made a little mess on the floor. No problem... the trusted sidekick took care of cleaning that up!

Poor Maelie is VERY tired from getting up so many times during the night!

Maelie used a box and turned it into a robot called Big Nose.

For lunch, I served Maelie her ground chicken inside an egg, and added rabbit ears to her ketchup. When I asked her what she thought... she replied that I was wierd. hahahah She DID enjoy cracking open her chicken!
