Future archaeologists?

Maelie and Tristan chose a fossilized Triceratops at the dollar store today. As of this minute, they have been working at digging those bones out for 2 whole hours!! and they are still going at it! I have to say this is the best 2$ I've spent in a long long time!


It's even worth all the dust on my hardwood floors!

Lazy Sunday Afternoon

What we've been up to

Well I've been quiet for a while! What have we been up to ?

SURVIVAL. that's about it!

I caught a horrible cold last week and was completely out of commission for 4 days. I missed 3 days of work and slept the days away. By Thursday, Bill caught my cold and was out of commission as well!

I felt bad because I fell asleep while Maelie was reading her school book to me! Then she was doing a small puppet show and I fell asleep there too! What a mama. Her meals ended up being kraft dinner, Subway and McDs. I could not do anything!

Today I showed signs of being much better because I found myself singing silly songs again. I had not been singing or being silly for DAYS! It feels good to be somewhat back to myself again. Except for one thing... I noticed 3 new huge grey hairs on my head!!

Winterlude!

This morning we headed off to Winterlude with our friends Maria, Tristan and Adamo.



There was a maze made of snow, a bunch of slides, but this one was the biggest! It was pure ice too! Apparently the park was shut down after we left due to it being too slippery and dangerous. We did see an injured person who had to be carried out on a stretcher.



We took the bus from one site to the other. The return bus was an accordian bus, and the kids sat in the middle on the part that turns. They had such a great time! Just that made the day completely worth it! hahahah



Since we didn't get to skate on the canal (we only walked) we headed off to Lac Beauchamp to finish off. Maelie tried boy skates for the first time and boy did she have a hard time! Girl skates are much easier for her.

We got a ton of fresh air today and had a wonderful time!! Too bad we have to get back to reality tomorrow!

Maelie was ecstatic today because she had her boyfriend Tristan over to play all day. She is just completely attached to him! They played all afternoon, had supper and right now, Maelie is teaching Tristan how to play scrabble.

Limits to being related

Yesterday Maelie stayed with friends while we went out for a birthday supper for Jacinthe. She had wanted to come with us to the Moroccan restaurant. So when I picked her up, I told her:

"Maelie you probably would not have like the food at the restaurant. There was tasty chicken but the other things were prepared with spices, and some of them I didn't really like"

"Mom , I probably would have liked it. We're related by our blood , not by our intestines, you know."

under the weather

My little babe is under the weather. She stayed home for 2 days already. Doc gave her antibiotics so she should be on the mend soon.

Sick children are very needy... they create very exhausted mamas!

Enough snow

I find that we have enough snow, but I am not sure Maelie agrees! She loves climbing the snow mountains every time she can.



Sometimes, she has more work cut out for her than she realizes!
